Vulnerability Assessment Specialist

Purpose

  • The Vulnerability Assessment Specialist is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security vulnerabilities within an organization's systems and networks. This role involves conducting regular assessments, developing remediation strategies, and ensuring the overall security posture of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed vulnerability assessments on systems, networks, and applications using automated tools and manual testing techniques.
  • Analyze assessment results to identify security weaknesses and potential threats.
  • Develop and recommend remediation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.
  • Work closely with system and network administrators to implement security measures and harden configurations.
  • Create detailed reports on findings, including potential impacts and mitigation strategies, and present these to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.
  • Maintain an ongoing process for monitoring and assessing vulnerabilities to ensure timely identification and mitigation.
  • Provide training and support to staff on vulnerability management best practices.

Education

  • A bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field is typically required.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, or a related field.
  • Experience with various vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys) is essential.

Certifications

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are highly valued.

SBM Offshore provides floating production solutions to the offshore energy industry, over the full product life-cycle. The Company is market leading in leased floating production systems with multiple units currently in operation and has unrivalled operational experience in this field. The Company’s main activities are the design, supply, installation, operation and the life extension of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels. These are either owned and operated by SBM Offshore and leased to its clients or supplied on a turnkey sale basis.
