Why we are here

Together, we can fight exploitation in cocoa. Full stop. Tony's is an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes an impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too.

What you will do

We are looking for a Manager Financial Control Open Chain to build and strengthen the financial foundations behind our growing impact. You will bring together financial control, planning, tax, treasury and compliance for Tony's Open Chain, including our entities in Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana. Your goal? Reliable numbers, clear financial insights and strong governance that enable our local teams to deliver.

As the financial counterpart to our Director Open Chain, you will turn financial performance into practical advice and help the leadership team make informed decisions. You will connect local finance operations with our global finance organization, making sure our standards, systems and controls work consistently across countries while supporting efficient local execution.

Based in Amsterdam, you will report to the Head of Accounting & Reporting and lead two local finance team members across Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana. This is a full-time role of 36 to 40 hours per week. If you enjoy combining hands-on financial ownership with business partnering, developing people and building processes that scale, this could be your next move.

  • Hybrid

All wrapped up

  • Build strong financial governance: Ensure accurate financial administration and reporting across our Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana entities. Oversee timely period-end closes, reconciliations, accruals and provisions, keeping our balance sheets reliable and our controls aligned with Group policies and local statutory requirements.

  • Lead planning and business partnering: Own Open Chain's budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes. Translate performance, variances and risks into clear management reporting and actionable recommendations for the Director Open Chain and leadership team.

  • Keep tax and transfer pricing on track: Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, working with local teams and external advisors on VAT, payroll taxes, withholding taxes and corporate income tax. Ensure transfer pricing arrangements and intercompany agreements are implemented consistently, with risks identified and addressed.

  • Strengthen treasury and cash visibility: Monitor liquidity, working capital, cash forecasts and funding needs. Work closely with our Treasury Manager and banking partners to manage foreign exchange exposure and intercompany funding, ensuring payments follow Group policies and approval requirements.

  • Make finance processes fit for growth: Govern and improve our finance systems, including Business Central, Navan and Medius. Standardize ways of working, strengthen banking integrations and drive automation that reduces manual payments, prevents off-system transactions and improves data integrity.

  • Develop our local finance capabilities: Lead, coach and develop finance colleagues in Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana. Build knowledge through training and collaboration, creating clear ownership, consistent application of Group policies and a culture of continuous improvement. Build financial acumen across TOC management through coaching, training, and ongoing business support.

Job requirements

Our new flavor

  • Significant experience in financial control, accounting, audit or FP&A, supported by a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.

  • A strong technical foundation across financial reporting, statutory accounting, internal controls, tax compliance and treasury management. You understand how these areas connect and take ownership of financial governance and risk.

  • A business partnering mindset. You turn complex financial information into clear recommendations and confidently support and challenge senior stakeholders.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills. You work effectively across international teams, senior leadership, external advisors and banking partners, connecting local needs with Group standards.

  • Experience with ERP and finance applications such as Business Central, and reporting solutions. You can translate operational needs into reliable systems and scalable processes.

  • Strong analytical, project management and process improvement skills. You spot opportunities to simplify and automate, then follow through to make improvements stick.

  • Leadership and coaching skills. You develop people's capabilities, set clear expectations and build accountability while giving colleagues the support they need to succeed.

  • Fluent in English, French is a plus.

  • We are all about being more in person than apart: this means we offer flexibility but see each other in the office on average 3 days a week. More is fine too!

  • Believe wholeheartedly in Tony's purpose. You live our core values: outspoken, in it together, entrepreneurial, raise the bar, and makes you smile.

Our benefits (the icing on the cake)

At Tony's you will get the opportunity to be part of something extraordinary: first and foremost, by making real impact in the world but also enjoying the nice benefits we provide as you help us succeed. We are dedicated to enabling all Tonys to grow and develop their careers and therefore we offer training programs, regular feedback cycles, coaching and a generous L&D budget. We also offer a wide range of additional benefits, including a luxurious vega-lunch, company bonus, minimum of 28 holidays, inspirational team updates, unforgettable events and unlimited chocolate. But we also know chocolate will not cover the bills, so we have made sure your salary is just as rewarding. For this role that means a salary between €95,000 - €105,000 on a yearly basis, including holiday pay.

Tony’s Chocolonely wants to make all chocolate 100% slave free. Not just our chocolate, but all chocolate worldwide. Not exactly the average company, right? Instead a chocolate company whose primary goal is to resolve a social issue in the world.
