Internship - Global Brand PR & Communications
- Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Function: Corporate Affairs
The internship
Join HEINEKEN’s Global Brand PR team and gain hands-on experience in international brand communications. Working closely with Adriana Teixeira, you will primarily support communications for Heineken innovations and Amstel, alongside broader PR planning, research, earned-media outreach and day-to-day campaign support. You will collaborate with colleagues, agencies, and market teams to help turn brand priorities into relevant stories and practical communications activities.
In this internship, you will:
- Support PR planning for Heineken innovation projects, Amstel and other Global Brand PR priorities.
- Research media, cultural and category trends, relevant journalists, publications, creators and potential story opportunities.
- Help develop and maintain media lists and support earned-media outreach under the guidance of the team and its agency partners.
- Draft and edit communications materials such as press releases, media pitches, briefing notes, key messages, Q&As, presentations and internal updates.
- Monitor earned coverage and help capture campaign results, key learnings and examples of strong work.
- Support project coordination by tracking plans, timelines, inputs, approvals and follow-up actions.
- Work with Global Brand PR colleagues, brand teams, agencies and HEINEKEN operating companies in different markets.
- Bring fresh ideas and an outside-in perspective to how Heineken innovations and Amstel can earn attention and relevance.
Your new team and workplace
You will join HEINEKEN’s Global Brand PR team, which uses earned communications to support brand growth, keep beer relevant, make innovation tangible, and increase the impact of major brand investments. The team works internationally across global brands and collaborates with brand teams, communications colleagues, agencies, and HEINEKEN operating companies to develop stories and activities that can work across markets.
Your day-to-day guidance will primarily come from Adriana Teixeira. You will also work with the broader Global Brand PR team and connect with colleagues across the wider organization. The role offers exposure to both strategic planning and practical delivery, with space to contribute ideas, develop core PR skills, and take ownership of defined workstreams.
During your internship, you’ll have every opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as an organization, not just within your own team, but across departments. We trust and empower you to work with an entrepreneurial mindset. At HEINEKEN, we love bringing the outside world in and welcome fresh, new ideas with open arms. Of course, we’ll make sure you get the guidance that suits you.
What a day in the internship could look like
You might start the day with a team check-in on upcoming Heineken innovation and Amstel activity, reviewing priorities and actions for the week. You could then research a developing media or cultural trend, update a targeted media list, or support the preparation of a briefing note, press release, or presentation. Later, you might join a call with an agency or market team, help coordinate inputs and approvals, and track any resulting actions. You may also review recent earned coverage, capture results, and identify useful learnings for future activity. Alongside planned work, you will help the team respond to new opportunities as they emerge.
