Position Overview

• Locations: Hoofddorp, Budapest

As a leading enterprise in new energy vehicles and battery technologies, BYD keeps expanding its European business footprint and optimizing global operation efficiency. To unify, standardize and simplify tax declaration work across European countries, we are building the European Tax Compliance Center.

In this role as European Tax Specialist (Chinese Speaker), you will take charge of full-cycle tax compliance management, collaborate with cross-functional teams both domestically and overseas, and gradually take over local tax declaration work. You need to ensure full tax compliance and provide solid support for the sustainable development of our European business.

Key Responsibilities

1. VAT Compliance & Filing

• Collect and verify VAT declaration data in compliance with local tax regulations.
• Complete accurate and timely VAT returns and relevant document submissions for various European regions.
• Cooperate with the internal tax team to sort out and resolve all tax-related inquiries and issues.

2. Tax Compliance & Document Management

• Establish and maintain complete tax files, supporting documents and operational guidelines.
• Guarantee the completeness, accuracy and traceability of all tax documents.
• Provide support for tax audits, internal inspections and relevant information collection.
• Communicate with internal teams to address problems encountered during tax declaration.

3. Direct Tax Related Work (Scope to be expanded per business development)

• Assist with the declaration of corporate income tax, local levies, withholding tax and other direct taxes.
• Participate in tax process optimization and related system improvement.
• Deliver professional support for cross-border tax compliance matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Taxation, Accounting, Finance or related fields is preferred.
• Practical working experience in Accounting for at least 2 years.
• Fluent in both English and Chinese, capable of smooth daily communication and written work in two languages.
• Strong data sensitivity, analytical ability and problem-solving skills with high accuracy.
• Excellent communication and execution skills.
• Meticulous, responsible, and able to manage multiple tasks under a multinational working environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Working experience in direct & indirect tax compliance.
• Background in tax consulting firms or multinational companies.
• In-depth knowledge of EU cross-border tax rules and electronic tax filing systems.
