What's the role

As a Quality & Logistics Optimizer (Blender), you will play a key role in ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with quality requirements. Working at the intersection of Trading and Operations, you will gain exposure to how blending, logistics, and commercial decisions come together to create value across the supply chain.

In this role, you will support blending strategies, monitor product quality, and help optimize operational performance to meet customer and business requirements. You will work closely with traders, operators, and industry experts while gaining exposure to logistics activities across terminals, vessels, barges, trucks, and ship-to-ship (STS) operations throughout Europe.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop both technical and commercial capabilities within Trading & Supply. Through collaboration with colleagues across Trading, Operations, external partners, Shell-owned assets, and Joint Venture (JV) refineries, you will learn how to balance commercial opportunities with operational realities while contributing to safe, reliable, and optimized business outcomes.

  • Work with Shell-owned assets, Joint Venture (JV) refineries, and external partners to support day-to-day operational activities.
  • Analyze operational data and provide insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of customs, regulatory requirements, and industry standards that impact supply chain operations.
  • Build an understanding of trading operations, commercial agreements, and the role logistics plays in value creation.
  • Contribute to delivering safe, reliable, and optimized outcomes while developing technical and commercial expertise in Trading & Supply.

What you bring

  • Basic understanding of product quality specifications, blending principles, and optimization concepts, with a strong willingness to develop technical expertise.
  • Foundational knowledge of terminal operations, storage, logistics, and supply chain processes gained through studies, internships, or relevant projects.
  • Interest in commercial and trading activities, with a desire to learn about trading operations, commercial agreements, and contract structures.
  • Awareness of customs and regulatory requirements, including excise status and CN codes, and an interest in understanding their impact on business operations.
