Why choose Eneco?
Eneco is one of Europe's leading sustainable energy companies, committed to climate neutrality by 2035 through our One Planet strategy. Sustainability is not a slogan here - it shapes how we build systems, design processes, and make decisions every day.
-
SAP depth across a complex landscape
You work across a broad range of SAP modules - EAM, PS, DMS, Service and Asset Manager, Field Service Management - giving you deep functional breadth in a single environment, without needing to switch employers to grow.
-
Senior ownership in a growing team
This is not a support ticket role. You shape how functional management works, influence how the platform evolves, and play a visible role in building a stronger team around you.
-
Infrastructure that matters
Eneco's systems support the energy transition at scale. When the SAP landscape runs well, field engineers, asset managers, and operations teams can do their work - and that work contributes directly to a more sustainable energy system.
What you’ll do
Functional Support and Incident Management
- Provide advanced functional support across SAP S/4HANA EAM (Enterprise Asset Management), PS (Project Systems), DMS (Document Management System), SAP Service and Asset Manager, and SAP Field Service Management
- Diagnose and resolve complex system incidents - coordinating internal teams and external suppliers to restore service quickly and structurally
- Monitor system stability and performance, flag risks early, and act before issues escalate
- Manage user access and authorisations in line with compliance requirements
Release Coordination and Testing
- Coordinate software releases end to end - from intake and planning through testing, validation, and post-release monitoring
- Review user stories, define test plans, and execute or coordinate functional testing before go-live
- Act as the quality gate: only accepted and verified changes reach production
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and suppliers to align on requirements, timelines, and acceptance criteria
Continuous Improvement and Stakeholder Management
- Conduct root cause analyses on recurring incidents and translate findings into structural improvements
- Drive improvements in collaboration with internal teams and external partners - not just fixes, but lasting solutions
- Advise on functional design decisions and process optimisation across the SAP landscape
- Communicate clearly with business stakeholders, IT colleagues, and management - translating platform complexity into plain language
- Support the development of the broader functional management organisation as the team continues to grow
Is this about you?
You are a senior SAP specialist who takes ownership naturally. You know the functional landscape well enough to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and find the structural fix rather than the quick patch. You are just as comfortable briefing a business stakeholder as you are digging into a release log with a developer. You are calm under pressure, precise in your communication, and driven by continuous improvement - not just keeping the lights on.

You’ll be responsible for
Eneco's asset-intensive operations depend on SAP systems that need to run reliably, every day. As SAP ALM Consultant you are the senior functional specialist keeping those systems stable, coordinating releases with precision, and making sure the platform continuously improves alongside the business.
This is not a passive support role. You are a senior anchor in a cross-functional team - diagnosing complex incidents, coordinating software releases end to end, and advising stakeholders on everything from functional design to long-term improvement roadmaps. You connect the dots between business operations, IT delivery, and external vendors.
This is where you’ll work
You will join a cross-functional product and operations team at E9 level, working on SAP systems that are central to Eneco's day-to-day operations. You collaborate closely with functional colleagues, IT engineers, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
The team is part of Eneco's broader IT landscape, which is actively evolving - which means there is always something to improve, optimise, or build on.
You will work hybrid - partly from Eneco's Rotterdam headquarters and partly from home, in a setup designed for both focus and flexibility.
