Installing some of the world’s largest offshore structures requires more than innovative engineering. It takes clear direction, close cooperation and someone who can bring technical disciplines together to turn complex challenges into practical solutions.

Offshore wind is growing fast. Large-scale wind farms and next-generation offshore grid systems require increasingly complex transport and installation solutions.

Within Allseas, the Heavy Lift Engineering department plays a key role in this development. Using our unique heavy lift capabilities - including the world-leading vessel Pioneering Spirit - we install large offshore structures such as jackets, foundations and converter platforms for offshore wind projects, weighing up to 60.000 tons.

Which is where you come in!

We are looking for a Project Engineer to lead the engineering delivery of our heavy lift installation projects. This is an excellent next step for an experienced engineer who wants to take on broader project responsibility, or for someone who has already gained initial experience in a Project Engineer role.

  • Delft

Your role

As Project Engineer, you will join a multidisciplinary team of Structural Engineers, Heavy Lift Engineers, Naval Architects and CAD engineers. Together, the team develops the concepts, designs, tools and procedures required for the safe and efficient transport and installation of large offshore structures.

Reporting directly to the Unit Head Project Engineering, you will be responsible for delivering fit-for-purpose engineering products that meet the requirements of the project, client and other stakeholders. You create structure and overview, set priorities and enable the engineering team to deliver within the agreed scope and schedule.

From concept development and detailed engineering to fabrication, yard activities and offshore execution, you will be involved throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with engineering disciplines, project management, clients and subcontractors, you will connect technical expertise with project objectives.

What are the responsibilities of the Project Engineer?

The Project Engineer provides direction, aligns the team with stakeholders, and ensures that agreed commitments are met. Responsibilities include:

  • Discuss project needs and requirements directly with clients
  • Translate project goals, client requirements and technical priorities into a clear engineering plan.
  • Create and maintain the team backlog, ensuring engineering deliverables are clearly defined and prioritised
  • Monitor progress, identify potential bottlenecks and support timely decision-making
  • Maintain close contact with clients, subcontractors, project management and internal engineering disciplines
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables, confirming they are fit for purpose and aligned with project requirements
  • Represent the team and encourage cooperation, transparency and continuous improvement

What we expect from you

To be successful as a Project Engineer - Heavy Lift (T&I), you should recognize yourself in most of the following requirements:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Maritime Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Around three years of relevant engineering experience within the offshore, marine, heavy lift or a comparable project environment
  • Ready to progress from a technical engineering position into a Project Engineer role, or already equipped with initial Project Engineer experience
  • Able to understand multidisciplinary technical challenges and translate them into clear priorities and actions
  • Strong planning, organisational and communication skills
  • Comfortable working with clients, subcontractors and multiple internal stakeholders
  • Proactive, decisive and results-oriented, with the confidence to take ownership
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to support and motivate an engineering team
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
  • Willing to travel and work offshore when required

Depending on your nationality, we may need to conduct background checks including references, qualifications, and work permits.

What we offer

Working at Allseas means joining a dynamic, fast-paced and entrepreneurial organisation where creative thinking, technical innovation, collaboration and a down-to-earth culture are central.

You can expect:

  • A competitive, industry-benchmarked salary and excellent pension
  • Performance-based salary increases and bonuses
  • 30 holiday days per year and flexible working hours
  • An extensive training and development programme, study budgets and coaching
  • A company-sponsored fitness scheme
  • Internal clubs, committees, parties and sporting events

An online personality questionnaire may form part of the selection procedure.
