We are looking for an experienced Senior IAM Engineer (Ping Identity) who wants to play an important role in strengthening secure access across ABN AMRO. Do you like working with PingFederate and PingAccess in a complex enterprise environment? Do you enjoy designing, implementing, and supporting robust authentication and authorisation solutions that help protect customers, colleagues, and the bank? Then we’re looking for you!

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who understands Identity & Access Management, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is confident working with stakeholders across technology and security domains. You will help deliver secure, reliable, and scalable IAM capabilities, while contributing to continuous improvement of our platforms and way of working.

Your job

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and support secure authentication and authorisation solutions using PingFederate and PingAccess.
  • Develop and maintain custom Ping adapters, plugins, and integrations using the Ping SDK.
  • Apply your knowledge of IAM concepts and protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, FIDO2, and SSO to deliver reliable solutions.
  • Use your Java development skills to build, troubleshoot, and improve IAM capabilities within Ping Identity environments.
  • Work with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to support controlled and efficient delivery.
  • Analyse incidents and technical issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT, security, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into secure and workable solutions.
  • Contribute to improving the team’s way of working by sharing knowledge, signalling improvements, and taking initiative where needed.

Identity & Access Management plays a crucial role in protecting the bank and enabling colleagues, systems, and partners to access ABN AMRO environment in a safe and secure way. You will be part of a DevOps team with experienced colleagues who value ownership, engineering quality, team spirit and continuous learning. In your work you will engage with different stakeholders across the organisation, including platform teams, security specialists, architects, and business colleagues. Together, you will keep improving the IAM landscape and help ensure that access solutions remain secure, fit for purpose, and ready for the future.

Your profile

You are a hands-on, analytical, and solution-oriented engineer who likes to take ownership and deliver. You are comfortable working in complex environments, know how to troubleshoot effectively, and are proactive in finding improvements. You enjoy working together with others, asking questions when needed, and sharing your expertise with the team.

To be successful in this role, you recognise yourself in the following requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Identity & Access Management.
  • Proven hands-on experience with PingFederate and PingAccess.
  • Strong understanding of IAM concepts and protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, FIDO2, and SSO.
  • Solid Java development skills, preferably within Ping Identity environments.
  • Experience developing and maintaining custom Ping adapters, plugins, and integrations using the Ping SDK.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with Groovy scripting is a plus.
  • Experience with other Ping products and Entra ID is a plus.
