About us

Rentman is a B2B SaaS scale-up building a smart, powerful operations management platform to support event and media production teams. Our users plan everything from small shoots to massive festivals in 70+ countries, and they all rely on Rentman to keep their gear, people, and timing perfectly in sync. We’re based in Utrecht (NL) with a second office in Toronto (CA), and our 100+ team members work in a culture that’s open, flat, and inclusive, where curiosity drives us, ownership matters, and everyone has the freedom to challenge ideas and make an impact.

Senior Product Manager Transport (Equipment)

As Senior Product Manager Transport (Equipment), you'll own that outcome from the ground up. Getting equipment to and from an event, on time and in one piece, is one of the most critical things our customers do, and one of the hardest. Heavy, specialised, often fragile gear. Fixed vehicle and crew capacity. Round trips rather than one-way drops. Our customers solve this every week, mostly with spreadsheets, phone calls and hard-won instinct.

  • Location: Utrecht
  • Flexible WFH policy and work from anywhere for 4 weeks a year
  • An OV Business card if you live more than 10km from the office

Mission of this role

Transport is a priority on our roadmap, and we're bringing in dedicated ownership to make sure we deliver on it: how customers plan loads, sequence stops and optimise routes across their fleet. You'll start by getting close to customers to find the first slice of the problem they'll genuinely want to have solved, ship it, and build the roadmap from there.

Which features ship is yours to decide. You'll be shaping the domain and its roadmap, with the freedom to define how the product takes form. That's a rare amount of ownership for a PM, building something new from first principles, with real trust in how you get there.

What you'll do

  • Own Transport end to end: Running the full release train for your value stream: discovery, scoping, design, development, launch and post-launch tracking.
  • Run customer discovery yourself, in the field: Talk to rental companies about how they plan, staff and execute transport today: warehouse-to-venue routing, multi-stop and multi-vehicle loads, load order, crew and vehicle capacity, and the constraints that make equipment transport harder than generic delivery routing.
  • Define the first sellable increment. Find the smallest thing customers will genuinely pay for, ship it, and be able to explain why that slice was the right first bet.
  • Build and own a sequenced, evidence-based roadmap with the Head of Product, aligned to company goals and product strategy. And explain the prioritisation to sales, support and management so they can plan against it.
  • Translate routing and logistics complexity into buildable scope: multi-stop optimisation, time windows, vehicle and crew capacity, mapping and routing APIs, and the build-vs-buy decisions that come with them.
  • Define success before you build it: Every feature carries a business goal, product briefs stay current, a live dashboard goes up at launch, and you drive go-to-market together with Product Marketing, Support, Sales and Content & Community.

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years as a Product Manager in B2B SaaS.
  • You've owned a product area end to end. From discovery through launch and post-launch tracking, not a backlog-only PO role.
  • You're comfortable with operationally complex problems: routing, scheduling, fleet or capacity planning, supply chain, field service. A logistics background is a plus, not a must.
  • You work from data. You can show how you set a success metric, what you did when it was missed, and how you make the business case behind a product call.
  • You've run customer discovery yourself, not through a research team, and you can make and defend scope calls on partial evidence.

Nice to haves

  • Product experience in route optimisation, fleet management, field service or supply chain / TMS, or hands-on experience with mapping and routing APIs and platforms (Google Maps Platform, HERE, Mapbox, route-optimisation engines).
  • Experience building a product domain or team from scratch (0-to-1), not only taking one over.
  • Experience in the live event, AV or equipment rental industry, and/or Dutch, German or French.

What you’ll get

  • Competitive salary based on experience, plus 8% holiday allowance
  • A results-based bonus based on company performance (up to a full 13th month's salary)
  • 25 vacation days to recharge
  • Earn an extra day of PTO for each year at Rentman, from your second anniversary up to five years.
  • A 4-week paid sabbatical after 5 years to go on an adventure
  • Flexible WFH policy & work from anywhere for 4 weeks a year
  • Pension plan through BrightPensioen
  • An annual training budget to grow your skills
  • Access to OpenUp for mental well-being and personal growth
  • Your choice of a shiny new Windows, Linux, or Mac
  • Stay active with the team: join the Rentman football team, squash and padel, plus a discounted Urban Sports membership
  • An OV Business card if you live more than 10km from the office
  • An ambitious, inclusive, and diverse international team
  • A flexible, energizing workplace with free lunches, office perks (PS5, ping pong, D&D), legendary karaoke nights, and regular team activities
  • An amazing office in the heart of Utrecht, in the historic Drift 17
