As the Duty Management Intern – February 2027, reporting to the Rooms Division Manager, you play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the hotel. Working across multiple departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance, you gain hands-on exposure to hotel management while contributing to operational excellence and exceptional guest experiences. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Rooms Division Manager in overseeing the daily operation of Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance departments
  • Act as a central point of contact for operational matters and assist in ensuring effective communication between departments
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, bars, and back-of-house areas to ensure hotel standards are maintained
  • Assist with handling guest inquiries, complaints, and service recovery actions to ensure a positive guest experience
  • Support the coordination of VIP arrivals, special requests, and guest recognition activities
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and follow up on opportunities identified through guest feedback and reviews
  • Assist with room inventory management, occupancy monitoring, and room readiness throughout the day
  • Support Food & Beverage operations during busy periods, special events, conferences, and group arrivals when required
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges efficiently
  • Assist in managing emergency situations and ensure compliance with health, safety, and security procedures
  • Prepare daily operational reports, shift handovers, and management updates
  • Participate in departmental and operational meetings, contributing ideas to improve service quality and operational efficiency
  • Support managers with projects, audits, training activities, and quality assurance initiatives

Essential Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Hospitality, Hotel Management, Tourism Management, or related study programme
  • Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken
  • Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Proactive, organised, and eager to learn in a dynamic hotel environment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and confidence working with multiple departments
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high service standards
  • Eligible to complete an internship in the Netherlands

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous experience or strong interest in hotel operations, rooms division, front office, or guest services
  • Leadership potential and willingness to take initiative
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Interest in operational management and developing cross-departmental knowledge
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays when required
  • Dutch or any additional language is an advantage

The monthly allowance is €750, exceeding Horeca CAO (BOL) guidelines.
