What will you do as a Process lead R2R?

As a Process lead R2R, you are part of the team that ensures the quality and timeliness of delivery by our outsourcing partner. You will oversee all transactional Record to Report (R2R) financial activities for Vopak subsidiaries and joint ventures. Reporting to the Director of Vopak Global Business Services, you will drive improvement by cooperating strategically across operations and beyond. You work closely with the Global Financial Systems & Digitalization team to ensure smooth processes and drive system improvements.

• Oversee a 3rd party delivery organization of around 20-30 FTE across three service locations.
• Manage the R2R scope, including IFRS 16 lease accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, accrual accounting, and fixed assets and act as the ultimate escalation point. Owning the relationship with external auditors in relation to the VGBS scope.
• Drive continuous improvement by leveraging the partner's experience and by acting as a front runner in the latest technologies like Agentic AI and robotics.
• Ensure compliance with the Global Finance and Procurement Framework and Vopak’s accounting manual.
• Strategic Department Co-Creation: Partner with the Director to design the future-state GBS operating model. You will move beyond operations within your process to co-author the three-to-five-year strategic roadmap for the department.

What do we expect from you?

• Education: A Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related subject.
• Experience: 10+ years of work experience in finance audit projects, preferably in a similar industry.
• Expertise: Proven track record in process management and implementation of global shared service centers or outsourcing.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid IFRS knowledge and an understanding of robotics, AI, and ERP systems.
• Skills: Excellent oral and written skills in English; entrepreneurial "can-do" mentality and strong problem-solving skills.
• Architectural Mindset: Proven ability to design organizational structures and manage the transformation from transactional to value-added services.
• Flexibility: Willingness to travel to visit delivery centers and global internal customers regularly.

What does your day look like?

As the Process lead R2R, your role is a blend of high-level stakeholder management and qualitative performance evaluation. Your day might involve:

• Overseeing the Reporting Cylces: Ensuring repetitive cycles and tasks (like general accounting and equity accounting) are completed accurately and on time.
• Analytical Evaluation: Moving beyond just data to perform qualitative assessments of the partner's performance, particularly where processes occur outside of automated systems.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Acting as the primary liaison for external auditors regarding transactional finance and ensuring all audit deliverables are met.
• System Optimization: Collaborating with the Digitalization team to provide input for the Tagetik consolidation tool and IFRS 16 modules.
• Governance: Measuring blueprint adherence and compliance with accounting standards across the entire Vopak network.
