Manager – Aluminum Scrap and Secondary (Europe)

We are seeking a commercially driven Manager – Aluminum Scrap & Secondary (Europe) to join our European team. In this strategic role, you will lead the end-to-end sourcing and procurement of aluminum scrap across Europe while supporting secondary material processing activities. You will play a key role in advancing Alcoa's recycling, circularity and decarbonization ambitions by securing reliable and competitive scrap supply, optimizing value recovery, and contributing to sustainable production.

Reporting to the Vice President, Value-Added Product Sales, Europe, and working closely with the Global Scrap & Secondary Materials team, this position offers the opportunity to influence Alcoa's recycling strategy across multiple European operations and strengthen our position as an industry leader in sustainable aluminum production.

Other key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for aluminum scrap and secondary materials across Europe, leveraging strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and market knowledge to secure competitive supply and support business growth.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, processors, brokers, and internal stakeholders, using excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills to strengthen supply security and create long-term value.
• Analyze scrap market trends, pricing mechanisms, supply dynamics, and business data to provide actionable market intelligence, identify opportunities and risks, and support data-driven decision making.
• Lead the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring effective supplier qualification, contract management, responsible sourcing compliance, traceability, and operational execution with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and business judgement.
• Collaborate across commercial, operational, technical, logistics, quality, finance, and EHS functions to optimize inventory, manage supplier performance, resolve claims, mitigate supply risks, and ensure continuity of supply.
• Support Alcoa's recycling, decarbonization, and circularity objectives by maximizing recovery value from scrap and secondary materials, applying continuous improvement principles, and utilizing Microsoft 365 and business systems to monitor performance and drive sustainable results.

What You Bring to the Role:

• Proven experience in aluminum scrap procurement, recycling, commodity sourcing, or industrial raw material purchasing, with a strong understanding of the European supplier landscape and market dynamics.
• Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and identifying opportunities to optimize value and profitability.
• Solid knowledge of aluminum alloys, scrap qualities, recycling value chains, and secondary material recovery processes, supporting informed sourcing and business decisions.
• Understanding logistics, supply chain operations, inventory management, quality specifications, and claims resolution within complex industrial environments.
• Ability to interpret market intelligence, pricing mechanisms, LME-linked structures, scrap spreads, and risk management principles to support strategic sourcing decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across international teams, collaborating with suppliers and partners across Europe. Professional written and verbal proficiency in English is required. Norwegian is strongly valued.

Where You'll Work:

This role is part of Alcoa's European organization and will involve regular travel across Europe to suppliers, processing partners, operational sites and industry events, with expected travel of approximately 50%.
