Jouw rol

You will be responsible for strengthening and modernizing the electricity system, ensuring the Netherlands continues to have access to reliable and sustainable energy. Together with your colleagues, you’ll tackle existing and future operational challenges by identifying needs, developing solutions, and taking initiative for necessary developments. You promote innovation and propose improvements for system operations.

You’ll build propositions and coalitions, developing ideas into implementation. This requires creativity and the drive to mobilize key stakeholders step by step, despite current and future uncertainties. Initiative, self-reliance, and the ability to collaborate in a complex environment with conflicting interests are essential.

You will also be responsible for:

• Analyzing future energy scenarios, system developments, and operational challenges, ensuring that innovative solutions address the future needs of the electricity system.
• Developing and structuring innovation use cases, operational concepts, and roadmap initiatives within the Control Room of the Future program.
• Aligning with internal and external stakeholders, including TSOs, DSOs, suppliers, project developers, and international partnerships.
• Managing and steering the innovation portfolio, mainly CRoF innovation, including business case development and funding initiatives.
• Translating operational system needs into technical and functional requirements for tools, solution architecture, and future control room capabilities.
• Leading and coordinating experimentation, pilot activities, proof-of-concepts, and innovation scaling initiatives.

What do you bring?

• A completed MSc and/or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Strong knowledge of electricity systems, TSO operations, and energy network technologies.
• Experience in developing operational concepts, methodologies, processes, and solutions for future energy systems.
• Experience with innovation management, proof-of-concepts, experimentation, pilot projects, and implementation programs.
• Interest and knowledge in digital transformation and data.
• Experience working in complex stakeholder environments on both national and international levels.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

• A permanent contract with a two-month probation period, based on 40 hours per week.
