JET is growing its technical estate to make partner KYC (Know Your Customer) & KYB (Know Your Business) faster, smoother and scalable across the globe.

Our products are aimed both for our partners and our internal users, helping them navigate the complexities of each market easily.

In this role, you will be responsible for building high scale, distributed systems that can handle complexities across markets.

We're seeking a senior and a mid level Senior open to Mid Backend Software Engineer with fresh ideas who drives bold, creative solutions to advance the JET’s global vision.

* Please note that this position is located in Amsterdam (3 days a week from our Amsterdam office and 2 days working from home)

These are some of the key components to the position:

• Work on large-scale, highly available, and resilient modern systems — supporting business continuity by maintaining our current systems and modernising partner systems within a small agile team. Design and build systems from scratch, collaborating with multiple engineering and product teams across the globe.
• Own services end to end. Decide how best to build, test, deploy and monitor.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Drive knowledge sharing through demos, presentations, and tutorials.
• Closely collaborate with other departments, including legal, compliance, and customer services.
• Work in new and upcoming projects: Doing proof of concepts, solving real problems with product & business plus owning projects end to end.

Some of the technologies you will be working with: Kotlin, Python, PHP, Docker, Kubernetes, Microservices, CI/CD with Gitlab,Github Actions, Kafka, AWS: SNS, SQS, ReactJS,Vue JS, MySql DB, NoSQL DBs like MongoDB, DynamoDB.

What will you bring to the team?

• Hands-on experience working with object oriented languages: Kotlin or Java with sound understanding of 3rd party integrations, API Design, and development & CI/CD pipelines..
• Experience with modern testing practices (unit, integration, regression).
• Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure like AWS / Google Cloud / Azure (knowledge only is ok for mid level)
• Understanding of microservices and event driven architecture.
• Experience with databases either Relational or NoSQL or both.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex matters and requirements to non-domain experts in a clear, simple and concise way.
• Experience in vue.js is a non-mandatory plus,
