Your job

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our hybrid infrastructure environment. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for managing on-premises infrastructure supporting Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications, while also driving our Azure DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure cloud infrastructure. A key part of this role involves ensuring IT compliance with EuropeanCentral Bank (ECB) regulatory policies by providing evidence for IT guardrails.

Key Responsibilities

On-Premises Infrastructure Management

• maintain, and support on-premises infrastructure hosting COTS applications
• Perform reliability engineering (RE) work to ensure high availability, performance, and stability of on-prem environments
• Proactively monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and drive root-cause analysis and remediation
• Plan and execute infrastructure changes, upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance

Azure DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure

• Manage and administer Azure DevOps, including repositories, boards, and build/release pipelines
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and automated deployments
• Manage Azure infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for consistent and repeatable deployments

Compliance & Governance

• Provide evidence and documentation (proofs) for IT guardrails to demonstrate compliance with ECB policies
• Collaborate with compliance, security, and audit teams to meet regulatory requirements
• Ensure infrastructure and processes adhere to internal security and governance standards

You will be part of the Dexterous team which provides core client (back-end) authentication services to many of the major business lines (retail, private banking etc.) spread across the bank. A few notable examples include Mobile Banking authentication and Internet Banking (QR code) authentication. Our authentication services are mainly comprised of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, no in-house build applications. The Dexterous team also plays a major role in the lifecycle management of all clients related access tools (tokens) which can be used for authentication purposes, e.g. debit cards, mobile devices and physical QR scanners.

Our office in Amstelveen is your home office. Of course, we are also open to the New Way of Working. We expect you to work two days at the office and choose the locations or moments you want to work the rest of the week yourself.

Must have:

• A relevant degree (e.g. Computer/Information Science, or other IT related background).
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar infrastructure/reliability role
• Strong hands-on experience managing on-premises infrastructure (Windows/Linux servers, networking, storage, virtualization)
• Solid expertise with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipeline design, and Microsoft Azure services
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., ARM/Bicep)
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or similar)
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills

Nice to have:

• Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, ideally within financial services (ECB experience is a strong plus)
• Experience supporting COTS applications in enterprise environments
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and reliability engineering practices
• Excellent Dutch oral and written communication skills
