At the Haarlem site, Technical Operations plays a key role in bringing new products to life, leading design and technology transfer activities, supporting components throughout their lifecycle and executing capital projects to install or upgrade device assembly and packaging capabilities in line with new product introductions.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Packaging Technical Operations team in Haarlem. In this dynamic role, you will lead device assembly and packaging projects from concept to execution, helping bring new products and technologies to our site. Reporting to the Associate Director of Technical Operations, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new equipment, solve complex technical challenges and implement improvements that strengthen process robustness, efficiency and operational excellence.

Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Lead or support design, development and implementation of device assembly and packaging equipment solutions for pharmaceutical products in collaboration with cross functional teams, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Participate in technology transfer and validation of packaging and device assembly processes and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new device assembly and packaging technologies.
  • Provide technical oversight for the implementation of device assembly and packaging processes and equipment.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance device assembly and packaging process robustness and provide technical support for device assembly and packaging operations.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including specifications, timelines and budgets.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in packaging engineering, medical device combination product or related roles, preferably in Technical Operations in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of device assembly and packaging equipment, processes and technologies and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated capability in project management and risk assessment/mitigations.
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
  • Experience in cross functional and international team environments.
