Introductie

At TenneT, we are building the energy system of tomorrow.

As a Strategy Advisor, you provide broad-based advice and recommendations on policies, standards and practices within your functional area to improve organisational performance and efficiency. You support informed decision-making by delivering insights, solutions and best practices that align with the context of your functional area and the business unit(s) within your scope.

Our task is clear. We need to enable and prepare for the future to guarantee a stable, reliable and resilient grid as part of the future energy system. The end-state of our grid is envisioned in our strategic vision Target Grid 2045. This vision requires new ways of designing, operating and maintaining the power system, supported by advanced digitalisation and transformation initiatives.

Digital Twin technology plays a key role in this transformation. It enables faster and smarter grid design, more efficient operation and maintenance, and better-informed decision making by continuously mirroring the physical grid in digital systems for analysis.

As a Strategy Advisor in the Innovation and Sustainability team, you will contribute to shaping and accelerating this transformation. You will translate strategic ambitions and research outcomes into coherent transformation roadmaps, architectural principles, and implementation trajectories that will embed Digital Twin capabilities across TenneT in a structured way.

Jouw rol

As a part of our Innovation portfolio, a program on enterprise digital twin is being developed. This role is positioned within the Department Strategy & Innovation, in the team of Innovation & Sustainability, working closely with Operate division (System Operations), Design and Onshore divisions (Asset Management, and Grid Field Operations), Digital & Technology & Transformation division and external research partners.

You operate at the intersection of strategy, technology and implementation, combining conceptual clarity with hands-on expertise.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting Innovation and in particular driving the Enterprise Digital Twin Programme in steering the organisational transformation toward enterprise-wide Digital Twin capabilities
  • Translating Innovation outcomes for the Digital Twin vision, strategy and research outcomes into clear roadmaps, design principles and priorities
  • Defining and maintaining reference models, conceptual architectures and standards for Digital Twin initiatives
  • Acting as a strategic sparring partner and content expert for internal stakeholders, research partners and suppliers
  • Ensuring alignment and coherence across Digital Twin initiatives, preventing fragmented or siloed solutions
  • Bridging strategy, operations, IT/OT, data and analytics domains to enable scalable implementation

Waar kom je terecht

Design translates TenneT’s strategy into a future-proof vision of the energy system. Colleagues within this division have a front-row view of today’s energy system and especially of tomorrow’s. Design provides direction for system choices, designs the foundation of the energy system of the future, and creates room for faster implementation. In close alignment with our customers and public stakeholders, Design determines what is needed in the long term to ensure security of supply and system integrity.

Jouw profiel & achtergrond

You bring:

  • A MSc in a technical field with a proven track record in digitalization and systems engineering
  • Experience in Digital Twins, complex systems, data-intensive architectures, or AI-enabled systems
  • Proven experience translating advanced analytics or research into operational environments
  • Strong expertise in system engineering and asset management
  • Strong project management skills including providing structure for complex topics, driving concrete results and delivering short term results in line with the long term strategic delivery
  • Strong systems thinking, with the ability to connect strategy, technology and implementation
  • Experience in asset-intensive or infrastructure environments (such as energy systems) is a strong advantage
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing
  • Openness to frequent travelling

You will work closely with:

  • Program Lead Enterprise Digital Twin
  • Strategy & Innovation colleagues
  • Various stakeholders from Design, Operate, Onshore, Offshore and DTT divisions of TenneT
  • Digital & Technology Transformation teams
  • External research partners and academic consortia

Enterprise Digital Twins are a multi-year digital transformation topic impacting all parts of TenneT. The challenge is to move from promising pilots and research results toward structural, organisation-wide adoption.

You will help guide this journey by:

  • Providing conceptual and architectural clarity in a complex Digital Twin landscape
  • Supporting decision-making on prioritisation, sequencing and scaling
  • Ensuring that research investments translate into operational and strategic value
  • Drive proof of concepts and pilots which accelerate delivery on EDT
