Job description

🌊 Who we are

We're a smart hydration company rebuilding an industry that still runs on sugar water and single-use packaging.

Filtered water, functional flavors, zero bottles. Still, sparkling, cold, and hot. All poured from one tap. We create hydration people want to reach for, starting with the workplace where we help teams thrive.

Growing that fast and thriving comes down to our people. Our team is our biggest asset and one that we’re proud of. We’re committed to maintaining our vibrant culture as we continue to grow.

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on engineering intern to join the pilot build of BOLD, Aquablu's next-generation product. You'll set up the build area, verify parts, assemble pilot units, and write the documentation that shapes how our products get built at scale. It's a genuine see-it-through internship: you'll watch, and help decide, how a product moves from first bench build to a repeatable manufacturing process, working directly alongside the engineers responsible for it.

What You’ll Do

  • Build the workshop from scratch. Benches, racking, jigs, the works.
  • Play detective with incoming parts: does it match the BOM, and is it the right part?
  • Get hands-on with measuring gear, from calipers and micrometers to a CMM if the build calls for it. We'll teach you.
  • Assemble the pilot units, and keep notes when things don't go to plan.
  • Write the how-to manual for BOLD as you go, so the next person doesn't have to guess.
  • Help work out what needs to change to go from "we built one" to "we can build thousands."
  • Put finished units through their paces on the test rig, and report back what breaks.

What You’ll Bring (Must-Have)

  • Currently studying mechanical, mechatronic, industrial, or manufacturing engineering
  • Comfortable getting hands-on with tools: hand tools, fasteners, torque tools, workshop basics
  • Able to read a technical drawing
  • Know your way around basic measuring gear (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Fluent in English
  • Organized and careful with parts, revisions, and records. The kind of person who notices when something's off.

Nice to Have

  • Prior CMM or other coordinate measuring experience
  • Time in a workshop or lab outside of coursework: personal projects, student teams, previous internships
  • Familiarity with CAD or reading BOMs
  • A knack for spotting when something isn't right, and the initiative to flag it early

✨ Why join us?

This isn't a tick-box internship. You'll work directly with our Engineering team and can be a major part in getting our newest product built!

  • 🌱 Healthy (heavily discounted) lunches
  • 🎯 Work on a brand with purpose — shaping how the world hydrates while eliminating single-use plastics
  • 📋 Fast-moving environment with fresh challenges every week
  • 🤝 An ambitious, bold, and fun crew that's always got your back

Hey there! At Aquablu - we’re transforming how you hydrate with our smart water dispensers. And the best part? We're doing it all without drowning the planet in plastic. 🌊🌎
Our culture? Imagine a dynamic, vibrant, and bold team that’s always ready to dive into new challenges. We live by our values: we’re fearless in our pursuit of innovation, fresh in our approach to ideas, ambitious in our goals, honest in our actions, and curious about everything. ⭐
