At O My Bag, we're building the foundation for our next growth phase. To help us scale smarter, we're looking for a hands-on Operations Lead who will act as the glue between our people, priorities, and processes. This is a role for a true all-rounder. The work is broad by design: systems, logistics, data, costs and our stores all land on your desk, and you switch between them without losing the thread. You thrive in a fast-moving environment, like solving problems, and bring structure without slowing things down. You will lead our Operations team, made up of an Operations Specialist focused on customer experience and a Logistics and Systems Specialist.
- On-site
- Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Production & Operations
Your mission
Own the operational backbone of O My Bag, from the moment a bag leaves the factory to the moment it reaches a customer. You make sure our stock data, systems and reporting are reliable, our logistics costs are under control, and the business can make decisions on numbers it trusts.
First-Year Priorities
🎯 Become the go-to person for operational questions across the business, starting with our stores. You tighten the processes behind stock, POS, payments and returns, and you dig deep enough to fix the cause instead of the symptom.
🎯 Close the gap between our systems. Shopify, Exact and the warehouse should tell the same story about our stock.
🎯 Make our dashboards the place the team looks first, together with our data partner InsightFirst.
🎯 Document how our operation runs. Clear processes, clear owners, no single points of failure.
Your Role & Responsibilities
Systems, Tech, Data and Processes
- Own our operational tech stack: Shopify, Exact, the connections between them, and payments. You know where things break and why.
- Oversee operations across logistics, customer service, IT, and office management.
- Fix or flag what breaks: order errors, failed syncs, pricing set-ups and stock data.
- Further develop our dashboards in Looker Studio together with our data partner, and make sure the team actually uses them.
- Drive the smart use of AI across the teams and keep looking for what we can automate
- Support our two Amsterdam stores on Store Operations: stock-flows, Shopify-usage, payments and returns, together with the retail manager.
- Be the technical sparring partner for the wholesale, marketing and retail teams when something in the system does not do what it should.
- Lead key operational projects (potential transfer to ERP system It’s perfect, repairs and returns data, second chances process)
Logistics and Warehousing
- Oversee the commercial relationships with our logistics and warehouse partners together with our Logistics & Supply Chain Analyst, including monthly and quarterly reviews, escalations and keeping an eye on our warehouse spendings
- Support new market access when it comes up, from local warehousing to VAT set-ups, together with your team and our external finance expert.
Analysis and Cost Control
- Budgeting, cash flow and financial reporting sit with our CEO and our external controller. You bring the operational numbers, the analysis and the cost discipline
- Read our P&L and know exactly what sits behind the lines you own.
- Analyse margins, freight and warehouse costs, returns and stock flow, and turn that into decisions on how we can work smarter
- Make sure the operational data in Exact is right: stock values, cost allocation and the flows that feed our reporting. You work closely with our external controller and bookkeeper.
- Review subscriptions, contracts and renewals, and negotiate with vendors where we can do better
Job requirements
About you
- 5+ years of experience in operations, supply chain or business operations, ideally at a direct-to-consumer brand, a scale-up, a 3PL or a freight forwarder.
- You are comfortable with numbers. You can read a P&L, build a model in Sheets, and notice when a figure is wrong.
- Tech-savvy and curious about systems. Shopify, Exact, an ERP and a dashboard tool do not scare you, and you enjoy understanding how they connect.
- Experience with international trade and Retail Operations.
- Hands-on and structured. You solve today’s problem, then make sure it does not come back next month.
- You take ownership. This is a broad role in a small team, and the work ranges from unpicking a system error to renegotiating a contract, sometimes on the same day.
- A clear communicator across different cultures.
- Fluent in English. Dutch is a big plus.
- Based within commuting distance of Amsterdam and happy to be working from the office.
- Changing the word takes time, so you’re available 32-40 hours per week.
