Mission

Would you like a broad accounting role where statutory reporting, corporate accounting and payroll accounting come together?

As Corporate General Accountant Belgium, you play an important role in ensuring reliable financial information for eight Belgian Center Parcs and Sunparks entities, as well as several additional entities. You work closely with the Country Finance Manager Belgium, acting as a trusted sparring partner on Belgian corporate accounting matters.

The variety is what makes this role interesting: one moment you are preparing statutory accounts or supporting an audit, the next you are working on payroll accounting, tax reporting or balance sheet reconciliations.

You report directly to the Country Finance Manager Belgium.

What will you do?

You combine corporate accounting responsibilities with the accounting treatment of Belgian payroll. In practice, you will:

• support the Country Finance Manager Belgium and act as a key point of contact for internal questions regarding Belgian corporate accounting;
• prepare annual accounts, corporate tax returns, Belgian transfer pricing declarations and other statutory reports and filings;
• support external audits, tax audits and other controls and contribute to accounting process reviews and corporate projects;
• support month-end, half-year and year-end closings and ensure accurate and timely financial information;
• process Belgian payroll accounting, including salary invoices, weekly payroll journal entries and monthly provisions;
• coordinate with the social secretariat, request payroll reports for internal stakeholders and reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts;
• work with colleagues across Finance and other departments to solve accounting questions and continuously improve our processes.

Profile

What do you bring?

You have a solid accounting foundation and enjoy working in an environment where accuracy matters, but where you also need to understand the bigger picture.

For this role you:

• have a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics or a related field;
• have at least two years of relevant professional experience;
• have knowledge of BE GAAP, statutory accounting, audits and internal controls;
• are comfortable working with ERP systems and have strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel;
• communicate confidently in Dutch and English.

Experience with SAP, payroll accounting or working within an international organisation is an advantage rather than something we expect you to bring in every detail from day one.

You work accurately and in a structured way, keep track of actions and deadlines and feel comfortable working with several stakeholders at the same time. Just as importantly, you are able to turn complex financial information into clear explanations and practical next steps.
