Your position

As Senior Software Developer (PLC), “In this position, you lead the design and development of advanced control solutions for Vanderlande’s Distribution systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to translate customer needs into robust, scalable PLC-based automation. You create detailed technical deliverables, support system integration, analyze risks, and drive continuous improvement of control system functionality across complex system environments.

Your profile

• 3+ years of experience with Siemens PLC platforms (S7-1200, S7-1500, ET200 family).
• Expert-level proficiency in TIA Portal (V15+), including PLC, HMI, and Safety.
• Experience with Safety PLC programming (F-Systems, safety functions, SIL/PL concepts).
• Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, OPC UA).
• Experience with Siemens Drives (G120, S120) and motion control applications.
• Familiarity with SCADA and data connectivity (WinCC, Unified, MQTT, SQL, or MES).
• Cybersecurity awareness (IEC 62443 principles).
• Understanding STL and SCL program language.

General Skills

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Ability to lead automation projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and cross-disciplinary teamwork skills.
• Ability to mentor and support junior engineers.
• Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing, food & beverage, logistics, robotics, or OEM machinery.
• Experience with virtual commissioning (PLCsim Advanced).
• Familiarity with Agile engineering processes and modern DevOps concepts for PLC development (version control, CI/CD for automation).

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 4347 to € 5900 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
