About the Department and Team

Accommodations Traveler Experience is responsible for the end-to-end accommodation journey, helping travelers move from searching and narrowing down options to booking and managing changes. The organization focuses on improving the critical user journeys that shape how travelers discover, choose, book, and experience accommodation, with the goal of creating a smoother and better experience for every traveler.

As an iOS engineer, you are responsible for the development, performance, and scaling of world-class end to end web applications including backend and frontend technologies. You will be responsible for making technical decisions that influence hundreds of millions of travellers.

You will join a team focused on rebuilding the stack behind the early stages of the accommodation journey across web and mobile. From search results to maps, property pages, reviews, and room selection. You will work on moving away from legacy dependencies, decoupling frontend and backend systems, shifting business logic into well-defined services and APIs, and improving data models, testing, observability, and experimentation so these high-scale traveler experiences can evolve faster, more safely, and more consistently across platforms. You will work primarily on building and modernizing high-traffic customer-facing experiences using a component-based architecture powered by GraphQL-backed domain APIs.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work on the execution of technical and user interface elements in the Booking.com stack, products and processes.
  • Estimates and prioritises based on the implementation effort and customer impact.
  • Collaborates with other app developers, backend developers, product owners, and quality specialists, to constantly improve customer experience.
  • Ensures the utmost high quality of the Booking.com app in production, by monitoring crashes, firefighting incidents and solving complex bugs.
  • Contributes to the processes that support the release of new features for the entire company, such as the release process, the build process, etc.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1-3 years iOS application development using iOS SDK
  • Proven experience of Swift and SwiftUI
  • Good understanding of Xcode and integrating back-end code into iOS app
  • Self-motivated to explore new technologies, applications and environments
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, team-player
