Medior System Engineer

What will be your role?

As a Software Engineer, you will work in a motivated team developing sonar applications used aboard naval ships. You will translate research results into robust C++ software, support the modernization of the Dutch naval fleet, and collaborate closely with Navy software engineers. Strict quality standards and extensive testing are essential aspects of the role.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and enhancing C++ software for naval defense frigates.
  • Collaborating with researchers and Navy engineers.
  • Ensuring software is maintainable, reliable, and well documented.
  • Participating in software testing and validation activities.
  • Contributing to the deployment of innovative sonar solutions in operational environments.

What we expect from you

Required Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience with C++ software development.
  • Experience with configuration management.
  • Affinity with software testing and quality assurance.
  • Strong communication skills and a structured way of working.
  • Excellent commandment of both Dutch and English language verbally and in writing (minimum C1 level).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of signal processing.
  • Experience working with complex technical systems.
  • Interest in defense, maritime technology, or high-tech software development.
