What will be your role?

What makes TNO unique for a Safety and Health Advisor is the wide range of safety challenges you will encounter. From hazardous substances and custom-built machinery to emergency response (BHV), crisis management, and building safety, where environmental issues and permits also play a role. This makes the position exceptionally varied.

Together with the other advisors within the Research Facilities department, you will take a coordinating and advisory role in everything related to safety within TNO. You will continuously switch between operational and strategic levels. Due to the innovative nature of TNO’s research activities, your work will be highly dynamic, and new challenges and questions will constantly arise.

The team's objective is to strengthen TNO’s safety culture and minimize risks across all locations. TNO’s ambition is to reach the proactive level of the Safety Culture Ladder by 2030.

What we expect from you

To be successful as a Safety and Health Advisor at TNO, it is important that you have:

  • A relevant Bachelor's degree (HBO), ideally complemented by a completed Higher Safety Management (HVK) qualification.
  • Experience in a strategic and coordinating role within the safety domain.
  • Experience gained in a large and organizationally complex environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
  • A good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
  • A valid category B driving licence and the willingness to visit various TNO locations throughout the Netherlands.

We offer a gross monthly salary between € 4,000 and € 6,000 (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180).
