Technology Manager Investments

As one of the Netherlands’ leading mid-size banks, we manage the financial interests of over a million customers. You will be responsible for the end-to-end technology management of the Daily Banking Investments domain, building and leading a team of around 20 people, and helping drive NN Bank’s technology transformation and shape its future.

What you are going to do

This is an exciting time for you to join us, as we are aligning our capabilities and organisation to NN Daily Banking’s technology transformation. You will build and manage a team of around 20 experts, including software developers, information analysts and quality assurance engineers. In your team, you will create a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement. As a member of the Daily Banking Technology Management Team, you will contribute to shaping and embedding the technology strategy. Your main responsibilities include:

• Liaise with the Investments domain Lead and translate the domain’s goals into a technology roadmap and change portfolio, ensuring alignment with tech guardrails at bank and NN Group level and taking responsibility for the Investments domain’s full technology lifecycle
• Identify and fulfil long-term staffing needs, matching team skills and capabilities to the demands of emerging technologies
• Manage the Investments domain’s products end to end, securing 24/7 availability, performance and stability, and ensuring deliverables meet client and business needs while maintaining strict quality standards
• Manage IT vendors and stakeholders, including monitoring and securing vendor SLA compliance for 24/7 operations, identifying needs, prioritising activities and managing expectations
• Drive control and risk management, cybersecurity, resilience and stability by instilling risk awareness in the team and vendors, using the latest technologies to mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with strict banking regulations including DORA, and providing leadership during emergencies to minimise business disruption

With strategic oversight and the ability to uncover underlying business needs, you know how to define strong, actionable roadmaps with clear deliverables. You also use your communication and stakeholder management skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across business, technology, risk and vendors.

You also have:

• At least 5 years of technology management experience in the Dutch banking industry
• Proven experience in end-to-end IT operations and an excellent understanding of what it takes to manage reliable, high-performance 24/7 value chains
• A strong understanding of the demands that Daily Banking processes place on IT, ranging from IT risk management and control frameworks to regulatory requirements
• Extensive experience in IT vendor management, SaaS deployment and SLA performance monitoring
• The management skills needed to inspire and develop teams, and drive strong results

Your home base is Daily Banking Technology, part of the Technology & Operations (T&O) department. Drawing talent from the 80-strong Daily Banking Technology team in The Hague, you will build and develop your own team. You will also join the Management Team of Daily Banking Technology and the T&O Leadership Team.
