Do you want to turn complexity into clarity through well-designed data models? Do you want to help organisations lay the foundation for data-driven decision making?

As a Data Modelling consultant at Valcon, you make a difference by using your strong analytical and communication skills to understand business processes and the data that supports them. You collaborate with both business stakeholders and technical teams to create conceptual and logical data models that support data platforms, reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.

You will work on exciting data-driven transformation projects where your models form the blueprint for high-impact data solutions. You also play a key role in defining modelling standards and ensuring consistency across data products.

What will you do?

As a Data Modelling Consultant, you are part of cross-functional teams delivering scalable and maintainable data products. You translate business needs into conceptual or logical models, contribute to data frameworks, and support the delivery of data products and platforms.

Among your responsibilities will be the following:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key business entities and their relationships.
  • Translate business processes into data structures using clear modelling standards.
  • Work with analysts, engineers and architects to ensure alignment between models.
  • Support data governance and data management activities (ownership, definitions, standards).
  • Share your knowledge and help improve best practices and modelling frameworks.

What do we offer you?

  • Personal development: a tailor-made growth path with trainings, courses, certifications and mentoring by experienced colleagues.
  • An innovative work environment: collaborate with a team of experts pushing boundaries in data, technology, and consulting.
  • Immediate impact and responsibility: you’ll make a difference for our clients from day one and are entrusted with responsibilities that will bring out the best in you.
  • Inspiring work culture: a supportive, flexible, and no-nonsense environment that fosters your growth and fully allows you to be yourself.

Additionally, we offer:

  • A company car or mobility budget.
  • A workplace that prioritizes and respects your work-life balance (for example by offering you the option of taking a sabbatical or expand the amount of holidays per year).
  • An affordable sports membership that allows you to participate in 50 different sports offered by over 10,000 partners.
  • The opportunity to work remotely from abroad for 10 days per year.
  • A vibrant community that organizes both professional and social events.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in data modelling or related roles
  • Familiar with data modelling methodologies (e.g., Ensemble, Dimensional, Relational) and standards (e.g., Data vault, Kimball, Inmon, Graph).
  • Familiar with data lineage and data architecture.
  • Familiar with SQL and data query languages.
  • Experience in data warehousing, BI, or reporting environments.
  • Experience with digital tooling for modelling is a plus.
  • Experience with data management, you are able to set up a governance structure around data models.
  • Strong abstract thinking level and able to design solutions on both detailed and higher levels.
  • Strong communicator, able to connect with both business and technical teams.
  • You are curious and have both integrity and a can-do mentality.
