Gwynt is a consulting firm for larger entrepreneurial (family) businesses in retail, wholesale, food, and manufacturing. The client is the owner of the company—management, family office, or private equity—and Gwynt acts as a strategic sparring partner for the family or owner.

Gwynt combines knowledge of family business dynamics with market insight, substantive expertise, and change capability to help clients achieve lasting results, growth, and a culture of continuous improvement.

The combination of hard skills—strategy, processes, content, and project management—and soft skills—behavior, management, and change management—is an important starting point. The approach is pragmatic and not limited to advice alone; achieving results is paramount. In some cases, this means staff temporarily filling interim positions to accelerate the change process.

Your role

As a (Senior) Business Associate, you have an important role in impactful strategy and business projects. You use your financial knowledge and skills to arrive at a well-founded business strategy with the client, prepare a realistic business case for a crucial investment, or get to the bottom of a special management or restructuring project.

You know how to come up with creative solutions by combining your experience with the situation you find yourself in. Within Gwynt you draw up business plans, make cash flow forecasts, and are able to produce clear reports. You will also make liquidity forecasts for capital providers.

What do we expect from you?

It is important to Gwynt that you make an impact with clients and fit in with the organization and team. Teamwork, empathy, being result-driven, analytical, people-oriented, pragmatic, ambitious, and eager to learn are some of the aspects valued highly. In your daily actions, you are an example to others.

In summary, we are looking for someone who identifies with the description below:

  • You have a considerable amount of knowledge and work experience within business controlling, commercial finance, and financial reporting in leading companies within the food, retail, or manufacturing industry.
  • It is an advantage if you have experience in consulting, or at least the ambition to develop consulting skills. You have demonstrable experience in supervising or contributing to complex change projects or business improvements, performance analysis (both financial and non-financial), drafting advice and improvement opportunities, and contributing to strategy, business plans, and business cases.
  • You create clear and accurate reports, dashboards, and presentations.

Furthermore, you have:

  • A college-level education, preferably in business economics, business administration, or accountancy.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial planning (forecasting), corporate finance, reporting, and processes.
  • Experience with setting up AO/IC or implementation of ERP packages.
  • Experience with financial turnaround of loss-making operations or restructuring.
  • Experience with investment companies, venture capital, and banks.
  • A professional attitude and excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written, in Dutch and English.
  • Ability to position yourself clearly and deal with resistance.

What do we offer you?

As an employee of Gwynt, you can count on a close-knit team of colleagues who are there for each other and share knowledge and experiences.

Gwynt has an open culture with plenty of room for entrepreneurship and self-development. The role offers a learning work environment, including on-the-job training, a personal development plan, and personal coaching, with excellent advancement opportunities and a competitive benefits package, including a leased car.

Employees are closely involved in the continued development and growth of Gwynt. Together, you determine your future at Gwynt: whether you want to develop further as a financial expert or expand your consulting skills.
