About the role

As a passionate Marketing & Communication Specialist, you develop marketing and communication plans, initiate campaigns, and ensure their successful execution. In this role, you work closely with consultants, partners, the business, and the marketing team. You take initiative, bring structure, and know how to translate strategic objectives into concrete marketing activities. Are you excited by a role where you not only come up with ideas but also turn them into reality?

Why Highberg?

At Highberg, everything revolves around people. Around colleagues who want to make a difference, take ownership, and work together based on trust and craftsmanship. We believe real change happens when strategy, execution, and humanity come together. That starts with our own team. This is why we create an environment where you can continue to grow, apply your expertise, and expand it further. An environment where you can make lasting impact.

Bringing strategy to life

At Highberg, you are not a remote advisor. You work closely with clients on challenges that truly matter, from strategy through to implementation. This allows you to make an immediate impact and see the results of your work in practice.

Collaborative, human, and professional

We work closely together, share knowledge, and strengthen one another to achieve the best possible outcomes. Our culture is open and built on trust, with room for both ambition and humanity. We listen, celebrate successes, and hold each other accountable, always with attention to people as well as to quality.

European outlook, locally rooted

With teams in the Netherlands and the DACH region, you work in an organization with a broad, European perspective. At the same time, the culture remains personal and close-knit. This gives you the opportunity to collaborate internationally at a high level, within a committed and engaged team.

Culture as a catalyst

Our culture is a key reason why colleagues enjoy working at Highberg. We place trust in our people, value initiative, and believe it is important that everyone can continue to develop. This enables you to get the best out of yourself, while together contributing to sustainable growth.

Your role as Marketing & Communication Specialist

As a Marketing & Communication Specialist, you are the key link between the subject matter expertise of our People & Organization (P&O) consultants and the market. You are responsible for both the marketing and communications strategy as well as the execution of campaigns and activities within the domain. You develop marketing plans, align them with the business, and work closely with the marketing team to ensure successful implementation. In doing so, you contribute to strengthening Highberg P&O’s position in the market. You take a genuine interest in our business and understand the work of our consultants. This enables you to identify the marketing activities needed to achieve our objectives and makes you a valuable sparring partner for the business.

Specifically, you will:

  • Develop, oversee, and translate the marketing and communications strategy into actionable marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Work closely with partners and consultants, supporting and relieving them of marketing-related tasks.
  • Manage and coordinate the marketing and communications calendar, ensuring clear priorities, deadlines, and an effective content mix while aligning with stakeholders.
  • Turn expertise into marketable propositions by translating consultants’ ideas into compelling content and campaigns for the right target audiences and channels.
  • Initiate, organize, coordinate, and execute end-to-end campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Increase the visibility of our People & Organization expertise on LinkedIn and other relevant channels by driving reach, engagement, and performance.
  • Work daily with tools such as HubSpot, Google Search Console, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and/or Google Ads.
  • Be part of a driven and enthusiastic marketing team where strategy and execution go hand in hand.

Who are you?

  • You are a team player, proactive, and able to switch effortlessly between strategy and execution.
  • You are curious about new developments in marketing and communications, open to feedback, and use it to continuously improve yourself and your work. You reflect on your own approach, learn from experience, and are willing to experiment with new ideas.
  • You have a structured, hands-on mindset and feel comfortable in a role that offers both responsibility and autonomy.
  • You excel at stakeholder management and know how to engage partners and consultants while translating their expertise into effective marketing input.
  • You are AI-literate and able to apply AI in a conscious, critical, and responsible way to enhance your work.

What do we ask?

  • You hold a completed Bachelor’s degree (HBO level), preferably in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • You have 2+ years of relevant B2B marketing experience, for example in a broad marketing role.
  • You have experience setting up and executing marketing campaigns, including content marketing, events, paid campaigns, and SEO.
  • You take a data-driven approach and know how to translate ideas into concrete plans and measurable results.
  • You have excellent communication and copywriting/editing skills, both verbal and written, in Dutch and English.
  • Proven talent in areas such as marketing automation, CRO, CRM, creative/graphic design, or copywriting/editing is considered a strong plus.
  • You are flexible and willing to travel between our offices in Utrecht and Amsterdam. For this role, you are expected to work at least one day per week at our Highberg office in Amsterdam and at least one day per week at our Utrecht location.

What do we offer?

  • Attractive and comprehensive employment conditions: a competitive gross monthly salary ranging from €4,500 to €5,200, excluding holiday allowance, with variable compensation aligned with the responsibility and impact of your role, complemented by paid leave, mobility options, and a pension scheme.
  • The best of two worlds: the intellectual sharpness and quality of a high end consultancy firm, combined with the agility and engagement of an entrepreneurial organization.
  • Responsibility, autonomy, and entrepreneurship: from the very start, you take ownership in projects and client work, with plenty of room to take initiative, supported by experienced colleagues.
  • Collaborating in an accessible environment: you work in a setting where decision making is close to the action and ideas quickly gain traction.
  • Flexible working with strong connection: hybrid working is possible, combined with regular moments where we come together for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and team activities such as inspiring sessions and the Highberg Festival!
