Job Description

Role: Project Manager

Working model: Hybrid (2-3 days from the office)

Contract Duration: 6 months with possible extension

Language requirement: English (Mandatory), Dutch (Preferred)

Job Specification – Project Manager (Engineering Delivery)

Job Purpose

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of complex technology initiatives through the effective coordination and management of multidisciplinary engineering teams.

The role acts as the primary link between business stakeholders, architecture teams, engineering teams, operational functions, vendors, and programme leadership, ensuring that technical solutions are delivered in line with business objectives, architectural standards, security requirements, and operational needs.

The Project Manager is accountable for planning, coordinating, tracking, governing, and reporting on the delivery of technology solutions whilst enabling engineering teams to focus on technical design, build, testing, and implementation activities.

The team size is medium, with 4-5 back-end engineers.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Project Management certification (PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Agile delivery certification (Scrum, SAFe, AgilePM, or equivalent) desirable.

Experience

  • 8-10 years of experience overall, including 5+ years delivering complex technology or transformation programmes.
  • Proven experience managing software development, cloud, infrastructure, platform, or integration projects.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering delivery teams.
  • Experience managing technical dependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Experience operating within large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Experience working with internal and external delivery partners.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasts, risks, and stakeholder governance.
  • Experience delivering projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating software delivery lifecycles including development, testing, release, deployment, and operational transition.

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of project and programme management methodologies.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles.
  • Familiarity with modern engineering, cloud, API, automation, integration, and platform delivery environments.

Note: Deep hands-on technical expertise is not required. The role is expected to effectively manage engineering delivery by understanding delivery impacts, dependencies, risks, resource requirements, and stakeholder outcomes rather than performing technical design or development activities.
