Our macro team provides timely analysis of economic developments, policy choices and the outlook for the eurozone, the UK and the global economy. We are looking for an independent intern who can help us conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses that turn economic data and political developments into clear insights. You will support experienced economists in monitoring the eurozone and UK economies, assessing growth and inflation dynamics, central bank policy, fiscal policy and political developments, and translating these into implications for the economic outlook. This is a hands-on role with real exposure to live research workflows, economic forecasting and policy analysis.
The team
Group Economics conducts economic and market research for the entire bank and all its client groups. Our research is independent, but we collaborate closely with other business units. We support senior management and all customer segments by providing insights that help them make informed decisions. We prioritize based on what matters most to the bank, aiming for optimal value creation for the bank and its clients.

Group Economics consists of several teams, such as the financial markets team, macro team, sustainability team and the Netherlands team.
As a Macro intern, you will help Group Economics provide timely and relevant macroeconomic research. Your tasks include:
You work closely with colleagues from the macro team, while also engaging proactively with other Group Economics teams, such as financial markets, sustainability, the Netherlands team and data analysts.
You are a naturally curious person with a strong interest in macroeconomics, especially the working and outlook of the eurozone economy and the UK economy. You follow economic and political news closely and are motivated to understand how political developments translate into economic outcomes. You are a quick learner, enjoy working with experts and are not afraid to ask questions. You are communicative, analytical and motivated to quickly develop new skills.
