Senior Data Consultant (Analytics & Insights)

Are you a Senior Data consultant ready to take on analytical challenges and lead others?

Valcon is looking for a Senior Data Consultant (Analytics & Insights) to lead insight-driven initiatives and mentor team members in a fast-paced consultancy environment.

Imagine you are helping to transform our clients’ companies into data driven organisations. You are in close contact with business stakeholders on your project and can formulate the right hypotheses to solve their business problems. Based on this you define a method or approach and gather and define the right data requirements, test the hypotheses and work towards the solution for their business problem.

What will you do?

As a Senior Data Analyst, you don’t just deliver analyses — you shape how clients think about data. You proactively identify opportunities for improvement, lead the design and implementation of KPIs and dashboards, and guide clients in making informed, data-backed decisions. You also coach and train junior analysts and help shape Valcon’s growing analytics practice.

Among your responsibilities will be the following:

• Lead data analyses and translate them into business recommendations.
• Define dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Define and implement frameworks and methods to track business outcomes in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Coach med-level and junior colleagues on best practices and analytical approaches.
• Act as a sparring partner for clients on data topics (BI, data quality, governance).
• Contribute to Valcon’s analytics and BI community.
• Help shape our standards, frameworks and best practices.

Experience

• You have 5+ years of experience in business/data analysis, BI, or analytics, and ideally some previous consulting experience.
• You have multiple years of experience with SQL and BI tools like Power BI, Qlik, Tableau.
• You are comfortable working with complex datasets and designing end-to-end insight solutions.
• You can read and grasp different data models and understand data modelling concepts.
• You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• You are experienced in a leadership role and can guide a team of colleagues.
• You have a thorough understanding of data concepts and the ability to connect data requirements to core business processes and business outcomes.
• You are familiar with doing research in a business environment, for example with interviews or surveys.
• You can build and maintain a relevant network at current and new clients.
• You are curious and have both integrity and a can-do mentality.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
