Are you a recent graduate and eager to kickstart your career in data and become a future-ready Data Specialist through hands-on training and expert coaching?

Join our Data Academy starting on 1 October 2026: four weeks of hands-on training and coaching, focused on building the skills you need to start your career as a data specialist at one of our clients.

At Valcon, we help organizations turn data into real business value. We combine deep expertise in data and technology with a strong understanding of business processes to help our clients solve complex challenges and make lasting improvements.

For ambitious graduates, we have developed our Data Academy. During this four-week program, you will be trained and coached by experienced Valcon specialists. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all program, the Academy is designed around the skills and knowledge needed for selected client assignments. This allows you to develop relevant, practical skills while building a strong foundation for your future career in data.

After four weeks, you will start working on your first client project, while continuing to learn from and be supported by experienced colleagues.

What will you do?

As part of Valcon, you will work at the intersection of data, technology and business. We’re doers who think: we help our clients turn their ambitions and strategies into solutions that work in practice. You will work alongside experienced colleagues, learn how to solve real client challenges and gradually take on more responsibility as you develop.

During the Data Academy, you will build a strong foundation in the key areas of our data practice. You will primarily focus on three areas that are central to many of our client projects:

• Data & AI Engineering
• Data Platform Engineering
• Data Modeling

Alongside these core areas, you will gain broader exposure to other aspects of data and consultancy, such as data science, data migration, data visualization, business analysis and consulting skills. The exact content may vary depending on the focus of the Academy and relevant client projects.

After completing the Academy, you will put your newly developed skills into practice on your first client project. Your development does not stop there: you will continue to receive guidance and coaching from experienced Valcon colleagues as you grow into a well-rounded data specialist.

Experience

• You have completed, or are about to complete, a Master’s degree from a research university (WO) in a technical, data-driven field, such as Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
• You have a strong interest in data and enjoy understanding how it connects to business processes and real-world challenges.
• You are analytical, curious and eager to learn.
• You are a real team player with strong communication skills and enjoy working with both colleagues and clients.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
• Nice to have: You have shown initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset alongside your studies, for example through a relevant side job, internship, active involvement in a study association or other extracurricular activities.
• Nice to have: Experience with Python or another high-level programming language.
