At Catawiki, every day brings the extraordinary. We’re a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects. Each week, more than 100,000 unique items are auctioned, all carefully curated by our passionate in-house experts.

Having sold over 25 million unique objects, our mission is to become the world’s most popular destination for special objects.

As a UX Research Intern in Demand, you will help us better understand how buyers experience Catawiki across the full journey, from discovering interesting objects and deciding whether to participate, to returning and engaging with new experiences over time.

You will support research across a range of buyer topics and product areas, including new experiences such as Catawiki Live. The exact research questions will evolve as our product and customer priorities develop.

You will work closely with UX Research, Product, Design, Engineering and Data teams, helping turn customer behaviour, motivations and pain points into insights that influence real product decisions.

This is a hands on internship. You will learn by doing, contributing across the research process from defining questions and choosing methods through recruitment, facilitation, analysis and communication of findings.

What you will do

  • Support qualitative and quantitative research across the buyer journey
  • Plan and conduct interviews, usability tests, surveys and other research studies
  • Help define research questions and select the right methods to answer them
  • Support participant recruitment, research materials and session facilitation
  • Analyse findings and translate them into clear insights and recommendations
  • Work closely with Product and Design teams to ensure research informs product decisions
  • Partner with external research providers when needed
  • Organise and synthesise existing research so teams can more easily reuse previous insights
  • Help make customer insights visible and accessible across the organisation
  • Develop practical experience combining qualitative research with behavioural and quantitative data

You will also bring:

  • Enrollment at a Dutch university throughout the full internship period
  • Availability for a full time six month internship starting in September or October 2026
  • A strong interest in user experience and customer research
  • Some experience with qualitative or quantitative research through university, a thesis, previous work or another relevant project
  • An interest in methods such as interviews, usability testing, surveys, diary studies and desk research
  • Currently studying towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, behavioural science, human computer interaction, industrial design or a related field
