We are seeking an Area Sales Manager to accelerate growth in the Pharma & Nutra division, working closely with the sales team and customers across the Netherlands and Belgium.

About this role

Own and expand direct customer relationships for Pharma & Nutra products across Benelux to execute the regional sales strategy and deliver divisional growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget, govern, and report to the director of the pharma division in central cluster
  • Drive growth in the pharma and nutra territory Benelux
  • Strong track record in business development for the pharma and nutra market
  • Execute market segment strategies to achieve targets and open new doors in the countries with a hands-on approach
  • Drive Barentz’s commercial success by consistently executing a customer-centric sales cycle
  • Lead, develop, and coach team members in alignment with company culture and established development plans
  • Enhance internal and external efficiency by collaborating with technical stakeholders to drive innovation with business and supplier partners
  • Optimize the field sales force and customer service tasks for complex requirements in a highly regulated industry
  • Set goals, personal objectives, and priorities for the sales team
  • Conduct and document regular employee evaluation meetings
  • Manage inventory, price and margin policies, forecast accuracy, order and contract execution, and NC-management
  • Interact efficiently and solution-mindedly with internal central units like SC/Logistics, QM, Finance, and country management
  • Ensure timely, quality, and sufficient reporting in BRM for the sales team
  • Regularly communicate with principals, organize joint visits, and create evaluative reports in BRM
  • Support GPMs in executing their strategies and plans locally
  • Continuously review and optimize the local product portfolio
  • Act as a brand ambassador of Barentz and the division at potential and existing principles
  • Build and extend customer relationships and cross-selling rates with the sales team for long-term supplier partners
  • Deliver principal and product presentations, customer seminars, and promotional campaigns

About You

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the Pharma, Nutra, API, or excipients industries, including sales operations and/or people management experience
  • Proven experience with application engineering in the ingredients sector with coating and/or the biopharmaceutical segment is considered a plus

  • Oversees a small team of experienced professionals who demonstrate strong judgment, autonomy, and independence in their roles
  • Drive growth with assigned direct customers and identify new leads for the success of the territory
  • Implement policies and strategies to drive short-term business results to achieve long-term targets
  • Fluent in English and at least one relevant local language, preferably Dutch or French
