Dit is jouw rol
For the Postal Agreements (PA) department, we are looking for a Postal Agreements Manager. PostNL operates in the highly competitive international market for cross-border mail and parcels. Within PostNL International Network Solutions (PINS), the Postal Agreements team is responsible for the commercial agreements governing the import and export of letter mail and parcels through the international postal network.
You will manage and negotiate agreements with Designated Operators and postal partners worldwide. The role combines international procurement, bi-directional supplier and partner relationship management, pricing strategy, data and model analysis, and complex commercial negotiations.
These agreements have a high financial impact and are complex and diverse. Negotiations are built around sophisticated pricing and volume models, requiring you to understand not only how the models work, but why they work and how different commercial scenarios affect PostNL’s financial position. Creativity, strong analytical and numerical capabilities, and a commercial mindset are therefore essential.
As Postal Agreements Manager, you work closely with various departments within PostNL and maintain an extensive worldwide network of partners. Your challenge is to prepare and conduct negotiations, translate complex data into a clear negotiation strategy, manage the resulting agreements, and ensure that commitments are correctly implemented and honored. Your objective is clear: to achieve the best possible commercial and financial outcome for PostNL while building sustainable relationships with our international partners.

This is a role with a significant learning curve. During your first year, you will invest substantial time in mastering the fundamentals of international postal agreements, including the underlying pricing mechanisms, financial models and the many variations that apply across countries and partners. We therefore do not expect you to arrive as a postal expert. We do expect you to bring the analytical ability, numerical curiosity and commercial negotiation skills needed to understand these models, challenge them and ultimately use them to create value for PostNL.
