Help shape the future of industrial automation and digital products

Are you a technical talent with an interest in software, industrial automation and digital innovation? Would you like to work not only on projects, but also on developing smart digital products that create value worldwide? Then this could be the role for you.

Our Automation department is evolving from a traditional project organisation into a modern organisation where industrial automation, software development, AI and digital products come together.

As a Digital Product Engineer – Industrial Automation, you will play a key role in this transition. This position is specifically designed as a high-potential role: an investment in your development as well as in the continued growth of our organisation.

Your challenge

You will work at the intersection of industrial automation, software development and product management. You are not a traditional PLC programmer, nor are you a full-time software developer. Instead, you will help us further professionalise our Automation department into a modern Automation & Digital Products organisation.

Together with experienced Automation Engineers, you will contribute to the further development of our Automation Platform and Tunnel Vision Portal. You will help shape the vision, roadmap and quality of our digital products and ensure that new functionalities are developed and managed in a structured way.

You will have plenty of opportunities to learn, take initiative and gradually take on more responsibility.

What will you do?

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the product management of digital software products.
  • Translating customer and organisational needs into clear requirements.
  • Contributing to the development of the product roadmap.
  • Coordinating software releases and version control.
  • Improving software quality and development processes.
  • Supporting AI initiatives and data-driven solutions.
  • Collaborating with Automation Engineers, software developers and other stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the further development of the Automation Platform.
  • Helping to professionalise processes related to software development, documentation and lifecycle management.

Why this role?

The integration of the Tunnel Vision Portal into the Automation organisation marks a new phase in the development of our organisation.

Where automation traditionally focused primarily on delivering and commissioning an industrial plant, today we are developing digital products that continue to evolve throughout the entire lifecycle of a plant.

These include:

  • Dashboards
  • Benchmarking
  • AI-assisted process optimisation
  • Predictive maintenance
  • Remote support
  • Digital documentation

Our ambition is to bring industrial automation and digital innovation together within one powerful organisation. This creates a continuous interaction between engineering, software development and our customers’ day-to-day operations.

You will help us shape and develop this organisation.

Your career path

This position is specifically designed as a development opportunity.

You will start as a Digital Product Engineer, learn the organisation from the inside and gradually progress towards a position with greater responsibility.

In the longer term, you can grow into a leadership role within Automation & Digital Products, where you could become responsible for a team working on industrial automation, digital products, AI and remote services.

This vacancy is therefore not simply about filling a position. It is about investing in the future leaders of an important strategic growth area within our organisation.

Who are you?

You are curious and analytical and enjoy connecting technology, software and business. You do not need to know everything yet. What matters most is your ability to learn quickly and your ambition to continue developing yourself.

In addition, you have:

  • Approximately 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • A Master’s degree or an excellent Bachelor’s degree combined with relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.

Educational background

Your educational background could, for example, be in:

  • Computer Science
  • Embedded Systems
  • Industrial Engineering & Management
  • Business & IT
  • Mechatronics
  • Robotics
  • Systems & Control
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Computer Engineering

A combination of technical knowledge, software expertise and business understanding is a strong advantage.

What do you bring?

You have an interest in modern software development and are familiar with one or more of the following areas:

  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Git and version control
  • CI/CD
  • Agile and Scrum
  • Cloud platforms
  • Software architecture
  • Requirements Engineering
  • API integrations
  • SaaS solutions
  • Industrial IoT
  • Data platforms
  • Business Intelligence
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Experience with PLCs, Siemens, SCADA or industrial automation is an advantage, but not a requirement. More important is your ability to bridge the gap between industrial technology and modern software products.

What do we offer?

  • A unique role at the intersection of industrial automation, software and AI.
  • A high degree of freedom and responsibility.
  • Extensive guidance and plenty of opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • The opportunity to help build innovative digital products with international impact.
  • A clear career path towards a future management position.
  • The opportunity to work in an ambitious and technically advanced team where innovation is at the heart of what we do.
