Play a key role in the settlement and invoicing of complex renewable energy contracts.

  • Drive automation, digitalisation and process improvement initiatives that shape the future of the team
  • Support and challenge colleagues while helping build a more proactive, mature and data-driven operation

Why choose Eneco?

The energy market is changing faster than ever. New renewable assets, flexibility products, certificate flows and increasingly complex customer contracts require a professional and future-proof operation.

Within Eneco Trade Community, the Account Support & Settlements team ensures that every transaction is correctly registered, invoiced and settled. You'll work with contracts related to solar parks, wind parks, batteries and other renewable energy assets. In doing so, you directly contribute to the energy transition.

We're looking for a Senior Account Support & Settlement Specialist who not only ensures processes run smoothly but also helps improve them. Someone who takes ownership, delivers meaningful improvements and helps colleagues grow.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Account Support & Settlement Specialist, you'll be responsible for the most complex operational processes within the settlement domain. You ensure that energy flows are accurately processed, validated, invoiced and settled.

You are much more than a subject matter expert. You take ownership of improvement initiatives, support colleagues in their development and actively contribute to the professionalisation of the operation. You identify opportunities to make processes smarter, more efficient and more scalable, while working closely with stakeholders across the business.

You also play an important role in helping the team move from a reactive way of working to a more proactive and improvement-focused mindset. You contribute to a culture where ownership, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement are part of everyday work.

Is this about you?

You enjoy bringing structure to complex environments. You are analytically strong, naturally identify opportunities for improvement and don't wait for others to take the initiative.

You are comfortable challenging existing ways of working and take ownership of both problems and solutions. You know how to prioritise, manage expectations and set clear boundaries when needed.

You also bring:

  • Bachelor or Master working and thinking level;
  • At least 5 years of experience in operations, settlements, back-office environments or commodity and energy trading;
  • Experience with complex operational and financial processes;
  • Strong analytical skills and an affinity for working with data;
  • Experience with or interest in automation, AI, RPA and process optimisation;
  • Experience with tools such as Databricks, Power Automate or similar solutions is a strong advantage;
  • Excellent English communication skills. Dutch is considered a plus;
  • Currently living in the Netherlands.

Even if you do not meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. We value potential, motivation and the unique perspective you can bring to our team.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Ensuring accurate and timely settlement of complex energy flows;
  • Acting as a subject matter expert within Account Support & Settlements;
  • Supporting, coaching and encouraging colleagues to take ownership;
  • Identifying, initiating and implementing improvement initiatives;
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and knowledge retention within the team;
  • Identifying operational risks and driving sustainable solutions;
  • Initiating and supporting automation and digitalisation initiatives.

This is where you’ll work

You will join the Account Support & Settlements team within Eneco Energy Trade. The team consists of ten colleagues, with eight based in the Netherlands and two in the United Kingdom.

Together, the team is responsible for contract onboarding, settlements, invoicing and operational support for a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets and customers.

The culture is collaborative, supportive and people-focused. At the same time, the team is entering a new phase of professionalisation, with a strong focus on process improvement, automation and proactive ownership. There is plenty of room for initiative and innovation, and you will play an important role in shaping that future.
