The Project Lead Offshore Wind Farm (PL OWF) is responsible to ensure all interfaces with the connecting Offshore Wind Farms (OWFs) are managed within time and quality standards to enable the offshore wind farm connections towards the 2GW HVDC Grid Connection system. You will have the responsibility for the contracts with multiple OWFs connecting to the grid connection systems at Maasvlakte or other clusters. As Project Lead OWF you’ll be part of the Cluster project team and jointly working with the Portfolio project team on a multitude of topics.

Jouw rol

As PL OWF you’ll manage the entire technical interface scope between the Offshore Wind Farm developers and TenneT’s contractors. Together with the support from Cluster staff, Portfolio staff and other PL OWF project leads you’ll ensure realization of the OWF grid connections in accordance with the applicable agreements (Connection and Realization Agreements) and compliance with regulatory guidelines. By managing the interfaces you will be involved in the design, construction, and commissioning of several 2GW grid connections. The technical scope comprises of i.e. all interfaces related to 66kV cable connection, 66kV Protection & Control, Telecommunication, Automation, Grid Compliance, OWF equipment located on TenneT infrastructure. Your team will be supported by technical specialists on the various disciplines.

Main tasks

  • Contract Management: ensure project execution according to OWF contracts and proper contract management.
  • Project Management: functional leadership of interfaces concerning OWF scope. Monthly reporting on project progress towards project management, risk management, maintain issue register, preparing Steering Group meetings and chairmanship of the monthly Project Management meetings with the OWF developers.
  • Technical Alignment: work closely with other project workstreams, TenneT’s internal departments and external experts to ensure the technical design of interface solutions is in line with contract requirements and OWF developers are treated in an equal manner.
  • Interface Management: ensure proper alignment between contractors (OWF contractors and TenneT contractors) and address misalignment and potential conflicting interests in time. Facilitate decision making between parties involved.
  • Compliance: ensure adherence to planning and deadlines, OWF concepts, contract requirements, HSE standards.
  • Development: work closely together with the department Business development to support and advise on upcoming Offshore Wind Tenders, development questions, impact assessments and grid compliance.
  • Visit and/or organise workshops and other related topics on site and when necessary abroad.

Offshore is responsible for the development, construction, and management of the offshore electricity grid. With the North Sea as the green engine of the energy transition, Offshore plays a clear and vital role within TenneT’s organisational structure. The Offshore division manages the entire lifecycle of all TenneT offshore installations, from development and realisation to maintenance and handover to the Operate division. A crucial task is the construction of 2 GW offshore ‘sockets’, which collect and transport generated wind energy to the mainland.

Jouw profiel & achtergrond

  • You have a Master/Bachelor degree and affinity with electrical engineering.
  • You have wide experience in managing contracts.
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and to become acquainted with a range of topics.
  • You have excellent communication and negotiation skills and are able to organize and schedule activities well.
  • You show initiative, you are persuasive, sensitive, aware of your stakeholders and capable of balanced judgment (environmental awareness).
  • You are dynamic, enthusiastic, intrinsically motivated, you take your responsibility and ownership (committed); no 'nine to five-mentality'.
  • You are able to functionally manage, motivate and give direction to a team of professionals and you are a team player yourself.
  • You are preferably IPMA C certified or open to follow a certification traject.
  • Experience in FIDIC and System Engineering principles is an advantage.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to travel.
