ABN AMRO's technology landscape is rapidly evolving towards a cloud-first, automated, and secure infrastructure model. We are looking for an Azure DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer who will help design, build, automate, and maintain our Azure platform and infrastructure services.

Within our engineering teams, we leverage Azure cloud technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, and security-first principles to deliver reliable and scalable solutions for critical banking applications. Our platform supports business-critical workloads across Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments while ensuring compliance, security, and operational excellence.

You will work with modern Azure services including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage Services, Azure Networking, and Identity & Access Management solutions. Using Azure DevOps, Terraform, Bicep, and ARM Templates, we continuously improve deployment automation, platform reliability, and operational efficiency.

Your job

We are looking for an Azure DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer who is passionate about cloud infrastructure, automation, platform engineering, and security.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Azure cloud infrastructure solutions while driving automation through Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices. You will work closely with development teams, architects, security specialists, and platform engineers to ensure robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments.

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing and maintaining Azure infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM Templates.
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps YAML Pipelines.
• Managing Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services across multiple environments.
• Supporting containerized workloads running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Managing Azure networking, connectivity, and hybrid-cloud integrations.
• Ensuring compliance with security and governance standards.
• Supporting production incidents and driving continuous improvements through automation and self-service capabilities.

Your profile

You can explain complex technical challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are proactive, solution-oriented, and remain calm under pressure. You have experience working in Agile and DevOps environments and a proven track record in the following areas:

Infrastructure as Code

• Design and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM Templates.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.

Azure Cloud Platform

• Hands-on experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.
• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
• Optimize cloud environments for availability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

Azure DevOps & CI/CD

• Build and manage Azure DevOps YAML pipelines.
• Implement automated build, release, and deployment processes.
• Manage source control with Git and promote DevOps best practices.

Monitoring & Operations

• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Support incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Identity & Security

• Experience with Azure Entra ID (Azure AD), OAuth, SSO, Azure Key Vault, and CyberArk.
• Apply security, compliance, and least-privilege principles across cloud environments.

Networking & Connectivity

• Experience with VNET Integration, VNET Peering, Private Link Endpoints, DNS, Firewall Management, and hybrid Azure/on-premises connectivity.
• Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues.

Storage & Databases

• Experience with ADLS, Blob Storage, and File Storage.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, MySQL, Cosmos DB, and Neo4j.

Required Skills

• Strong Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps experience.
• Expertise in Terraform, Bicep, and ARM Templates.
• Knowledge of AKS, Azure Networking, Security, and Monitoring.
• Strong automation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ownership mindset with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement.

Preferred

• 5+ years of Azure Infrastructure or DevOps engineering experience.
• Azure certifications such as AZ-204, AZ-305, AZ-400, or AZ-500.
• Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments.
