Based at the Leiden Bio Science Park, we provide a comprehensive range of microbiological, viral, chemical, and physical quality control testing for pharmaceutical raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. In addition to our standard test packages, we develop and validate product-specific methods in close collaboration with our clients, and we also offer small-scale manufacturing services.

As Scientist Chemistry at Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Leiden B.V. you are responsible for setting up analytical methods to analyse pharmaceutical (semi-)finished products, or determining whether execution of the method is feasible on our site.

Your responsibilities include:

• Drawing up project plans in consultation with Sales and/or Project Management
• Assisting in the preparation of quotations for projects
• Translating customer demand into protocol and/or work plan
• Overall management of assigned projects, including coordination, planning, and communication
• Preparing a work plan with the help of Design of Experiments (DOE)
• Review and interpretation of generated data
• Troubleshooting company-wide laboratory matters
• Conducting investigations into complaints and deviations and reporting this to QA
• Taking care of corrective and preventive measures in the event of complaints and deviations

Qualifications

• You have a PhD, or an MSc/BSc with at least 2 years of relevant working experience, in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or organic chemistry
• You have experience in development and validation of analytical methods, preferably in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
• You are familiar with relevant ICH guidelines
• You have experience or a strong affinity with HPLC techniques, preferably with analyzing small molecule drugs
• You are independent, enthusiastic, goal-oriented, efficient, and accurate, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• You are capable of running several experiments in parallel and working in a flexible way
• You enjoy working in a team and welcome and use feedback as an opportunity to learn and grow
• You are fluent in English; basic knowledge of Dutch is an advantage, but not a requirement
• You are located in the Netherlands and in possession of a work permit
