Role Description

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and analytical Junior Business Controller (Junior Financial Analyst) to join our dynamic, fast-paced Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team at Booking.com.

In this role, you will report directly to a Senior Manager within the Central Technology team and collaborate closely with stakeholders across FP&A and the broader business. You will play a key role in forecasting, analyzing, and reporting on departmental performance, as well as delivering ad-hoc financial insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning & Forecasting: Assist with business planning, financial forecasting, and variance analysis versus budgets and forecasts.
  • Reporting & Month-End Close: Partner with accounting and business teams during the month-end close to ensure accurate reporting, complete with meaningful explanatory comments and performance insights.
  • Business Partnering & Insights: Proactively analyze data to deliver actionable business intelligence, advising stakeholders and helping them understand key market and operational trends.
  • Process Improvement: Support senior business controllers by identifying ways to scale, streamline, and improve existing reporting and processes to meet evolving management needs.
  • Ad-Hoc & Project Support: Perform scenario modeling, benchmarking, and ad-hoc analysis. Actively contribute to cost control, process improvement, and expansion initiatives across the business.
  • Contribute to and provide support to various improvement projects and initiatives.

Role Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’ degree in Business, Finance, or other related field;
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Medium to advanced knowledge of Excel;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Financial modeling and analytical skills;
  • Some experience with business partnering is a plus;
  • A critical mindset and a strong desire to aid in data-driven decision making;
  • The motivation to aid in problem solving and providing the best analytics possible to the key decision makers
  • A strong team player who also has the ability to work independently;
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and working in an unstructured environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion.
