As Technical Manager, you lead the overall activities of the technical department and the preparation and execution support for maintenance, reliability, inspection, integrity, management of change, marine and process stability programs. You drive technical excellence, oversee operational strategies, and implement best practices to achieve production targets and operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and assurance for operations to ensure facility asset integrity and operational performance standards are achieved, prioritizing reliability and integrity programs to maximize system availability across all lines of defense.
  • Manage and optimize daily technical operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, providing expert solutions to complex operational challenges.
  • Develop and implement strategies for operational improvements, enhancing productivity and reducing downtime.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all technical activities adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Mentor and guide technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Identify areas for operational and organizational optimization, recommending and implementing improvements.
  • Lead the integration of new technologies and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead the 3Y AI budget preparation in coordination with all leads within the department, aligned with the strategic central team and the yearly plan, and monitor yearly consumption.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical) or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in the marine and/or offshore petrochemical industry, with suitable technical experience and knowledge of FPSO/FSO unit operations.
  • Minimum 5 years in a managerial role preferred.
  • Proven expertise in technical operations, process optimization, and team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of process safety in Oil & Gas.

SBM Offshore provides floating production solutions to the offshore energy industry, over the full product life-cycle. The Company is market leading in leased floating production systems with multiple units currently in operation and has unrivalled operational experience in this field. The Company’s main activities are the design, supply, installation, operation and the life extension of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels. These are either owned and operated by SBM Offshore and leased to its clients or supplied on a turnkey sale basis.
