As our new International Finance & Compliance Expert, you will play an important role in strengthening and professionalising the finance organisation of our international offices, branches and permanent establishments outside Western Europe. This is a senior role for an experienced finance professional who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a complex, international project environment.

You will work closely with colleagues across Controlling, Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR and Global Mobility to ensure that our international entities are well structured, compliant and effectively integrated into Haskoning’s global business.

What you will do as International Finance Manager

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, managing and improving the local financial administration of Haskoning’s entities and permanent establishments mostly outside Western Europe. You will ensure that local accounting, controlling, tax, treasury and compliance processes are in place and aligned with Group principles, timelines and reporting standards.

You will work in an international matrix organisation, where you advise, coordinate and challenge stakeholders across different countries, disciplines and business lines. Your work will include:

  • Developing and maintaining strong local finance administrations, with specific attention to systems, processes, staffing, reporting quality and compliance.
  • Advising project managers and business stakeholders on international finance and tax risks during the proposal and project set-up phase.
  • Supporting the set-up and registration of new international entities, branches and permanent establishments.
  • Working closely with Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR and Global Mobility on international structures, financing, compliance, mobility topics and local regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the further professionalisation of international entities by improving cash flow planning, reporting structures, administrative organisation and local control frameworks.

Where you will work

At Haskoning, you will join an independent, employee-owned international consultancy that combines engineering, design, and consultancy services with software and technology.

We offer purpose-driven and challenging work in diverse international projects. We collaborate with leading clients in markets such as infrastructure, climate resilience, renewable energy, decarbonisation of industry, and sustainable mobility.

As our new colleague, you will become part of the finance organisation, reporting to the Director International Finance, tax & Compliance. You will work with colleagues across multiple countries and functions and will be involved in international activities that are strategically important to the continued growth and professionalisation of Haskoning’s global organisation.

What you bring

You are an experienced international finance professional who is comfortable working in complex, project-driven environments. You know how to operate in an international matrix organisation and can switch easily between strategic advice and practical implementation. You are analytical, pragmatic and reliable, with strong communication skills and a good understanding of intercultural collaboration.

You also bring:

  • A university degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Around 7 to 10 years of relevant international finance experience, preferably in a project-driven and internationally complex organisation.
  • Strong expertise in international finance, including local administrations, accounting, statutory compliance, tax, mobility, treasury topics and the set-up of entities, branches or permanent establishments abroad.
  • Experience working closely with Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR and preferably Global Mobility on international structures and cross-border activities.
  • Fluency in English, with an additional language being an advantage, and willingness to travel internationally when required.

In addition, you are results-driven, accurate and quality-focused. You combine integrity and strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, flexible and service-minded way of working.
