The vibration department of Cauberg Huygen would like to welcome a student willing to specialize in vibrations and structural dynamics during an internship at our office in Zwolle. Our specialized department helps clients solve their vibration problems. The unique facilities of advanced measuring equipment ánd simulation software make it possible to really understand what is going on. Together with years of experience we provide the right, practical solutions for our customers.
Would you like to be part of that?
We are highly specialised in dynamics, but our business allows us to practise our expertise in a wide range of markets and activities: from generators to power transformers, from buildings near railway tracks to laboratories near the beach, from huge paper milling machines to waver steppers in nanotechnology, from demolishing building structures to pile driving for new buildings, from fatigue on tow bars to building-vibrations caused by a grist mill for brewing beer, from a theatre in Madrid to a data centre in Finland and from a luxurious yacht in Marseille to a power barge in the Dominican Republic. We challenge you to find a more diverse working field!
We perform our work using specific equipment and software. Our measurement equipment consists of B&K BKconnect / Pulse 12 channel analyser and a 4 channel Benstone analyser. Our software is measuring wise related to B&K (for MOD and ODS) and for simulations we use Abaqus. Besides that we use Matlab and Python for generating tools ourselves.
“You’ll quickly feel at home here; colleagues become friends, and that makes the work even more enjoyable.”
Luukie Cordes, Consultant Building Quality in Amsterdam
Your job is primarily to support our specialists with their different activities. The specific job will be dependent on the work we have at hand during your internship. It can be in the area of support during measurement, processing measurement data (for example modal and operations shape analysis), investigating and preparing new practical tools for us to use or performing dynamic simulations within our projects or for future use. The focus could be on either measurements or simulations or both, dependent on your interests and the work available.
Most importantly we require you to be actively interested in structural dynamics. We will support you in acquiring the necessary skills during your internship, but you will also need to be able to work independently and acquire the required knowledge yourself as well. Taking an Advanced Dynamics Course at your bachelor or master study prior to the internship would be very advantageous and would help to make the most of the internship.
We believe in an organisation where learning, sharing and working on professional and personal growth is key to our combined succes. In this way, we not only empower our professionals, but also enhance the quality and future-proofing of our services.
