As a Firmware Designer (FPGA), your main responsibility is to create and modify firmware designs for programmable logic, for example FPGA’s, including the hardware/software interface of the machine.
Your tasks include specifying and documenting requirements, implementing and simulating VHDL code, as well as testing the firmware in test setups and in the machine module. As a firmware designer you are the first point of contact for VHDL-related questions. You will work closely with designers of all disciplines (software, hardware, (electro)-mechanical).

You have a broad interest and experience in the technology of firmware but also hardware and software for embedded systems design. You are able to make well-founded design choices together with your colleagues. You will make use of best practices and industry standards.
Furthermore:
Experience with FPGA design flow (Altera Quartus/Xilinx ISE) and functional & gate level simulation using Mentor Modalism and/or Questa Sim.
