At G-STAR, we’re looking for a Social Media Manager to shape and elevate our global social presence.
At G-STAR, the Social Media Manager owns the strategy, briefing, publishing, community management and reporting for G-STAR's global social channels: Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
You will be part of the Brand & Marketing team at our HQ in Amsterdam, reporting to the Sr PR Manager, and working closely with the global PR & influencer team. South Africa and Japan run their own regional Instagram channels and fall outside this role's remit.
Our goal is for social to reflect G-STAR’s aspirational brand vision and DNA, positioning us as the recognized authority on denim and the most progressive, culturally relevant brand across social. In close collaboration with the brand team, creative studio, tastemakers and agency partners, you’ll premiumize our social content and drive best-practice campaign roll-out, while supporting the digital teams (Ecom, Paid Social, Retail) to maximize commercial impact.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Writing social briefs for the brand team, creative agencies and tastemakers/creators, to amplify campaigns in the right social channels with the right content.
- Support creative teams and agencies with the creation of associated social assets, and personally shoot and edit native, short-form content (iPhone/short-form video) where needed.
- Oversee and create the social content calendar.
- Act as the liaison between social, PR and other teams/agencies, keeping oversight of social campaign projects, deadlines and priorities.
- Responsible for content posting, proactive feed creation and curation, and real-time, trend-reactive content on TikTok.
- Build and manage an always-on creator and community program: sourcing, briefing, contracting and securing usage rights for tastemakers and creators.
- Responsible for social boosting and budget split across our global social channels.
- Monitoring results of campaigns and tweaking boosting budgets where needed.
- Tracking consumer sentiment and liaise with customer service.
- Creation of campaign performance reports.
- Ongoing reporting on performance against the social KPI plan (followers, impressions, engagement) on a weekly, monthly and half-yearly basis.
- Proactively report on social trends, competitor analysis, social implications.
- Translate our global social strategy into platform-native formats and behaviours per channel: scaled, curated storytelling on Instagram; fast, trend-driven native content on TikTok; and business/brand storytelling on LinkedIn.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Strategic but hands-on professional with a sense for design and social content.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Deep understanding of social media platforms and their native behaviours, specifically Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in social media management, including experience building or running always-on creator/talent programs.
- Preferably experience working with international retail brands.
- Preferably experience briefing and managing creative teams, agencies and tastemakers/creators, including contracting and usage rights.
- Experience working with Sprout Social (or a comparable tool, e.g. Sprinklr/Emplifi) for publishing, reporting and data insights.
- Affinity with fashion, design, art.
- True interest in social media and digital trends.
- Comfortable creating native, short-form content yourself (shooting and editing on iPhone), including appearing on camera for behind-the-scenes and craft/construction content.
- Comfortable reading performance data and dashboards, and translating insights into concrete content and budget decisions.
