About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Trust and Security Manager, you’ll play a central role within the Trust and Security team, supporting both the GÉANT organisation and its wider community. This is a community-facing role focused on developing and managing innovative ideas into projects, taskforces, and services aligned with GÉANT’s strategic goals. You’ll act as a key interface between GÉANT and its members, leading collaboration across international stakeholders, supporting the development of trust infrastructure services, and contributing to new technologies and cost-effective service delivery. The role requires strong stakeholder management, the ability to lead complex discussions across diverse groups, and active representation of GÉANT in international forums.

What You’ll Do

Service & Portfolio Management

You’ll manage services within the Trust and Security portfolio, including Trusted Certificate Service (TCS), eduSIGN, and REFEDS. This includes overseeing service delivery, coordinating governance activities, and ensuring smooth operational management.

Community Engagement & Programme Delivery

You’ll organise and lead community activities, including working groups, governance calls, and training sessions to support service development and collaboration across the GÉANT community.

Governance, Policy & Compliance

You’ll support technical governance processes and contribute to policy development and management within the Trust and Security portfolio.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

You’ll act as an ambassador for GÉANT, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, decision makers, and community members across the trust, identity, and security landscape.

Industry Insight & Service Development

You’ll monitor and analyse industry and community trends, working with experts to shape future projects and services aligned to GÉANT’s priorities.

Representation & Thought Leadership

You’ll represent GÉANT in international forums, conferences, and consultative bodies, presenting on projects and contributing to discussions across the research and education community.

Collaboration with Internal Teams

You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, including the legal team, to support contracting, invoicing, and service operations.

About You

You may be a good fit if you…

  • Have experience in project management, delivery, and reporting
  • Are comfortable working in an international, community-driven environment
  • Have strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • Are confident leading discussions across diverse groups and perspectives
  • Have excellent written and spoken English
  • Are able to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience working on EU-funded projects
  • Experience managing project budgets
  • Knowledge of internet security, identity, or trust infrastructure (e.g. AAI)
  • Experience in research and education networking
  • Additional language skills
  • Background in computer networking or internet technologies
