About the role

Versuni is home to some of the world’s most renowned home appliance brands, including Philips, Philips Baristina, Saeco, Gaggia, Preethi, Philips Walita, L’OR Barista and Senseo.

As Product Director Baristina & New Coffee Experiences, you will lead the strategy, roadmap, and business performance for Baristina, our flagship semi-automatic espresso platform, as well as manual coffee and coffee based adjacencies.

This is a fast-paced role for a product leader with strong business ownership, consumer obsession, innovation drive, and an entrepreneurial mindset. You will define how Baristina evolves, where the portfolio goes next, and how Versuni captures emerging coffee trends across espresso, milk drinks, manual brewing, cold coffee, and new café-style experiences at home.

You will own the sub-category strategy, product portfolio, project portfolio, and financial results, including Turnover, Margin%, IGM%, and Market Share. You will lead a team of Product Managers and Product Project Managers, working closely with R&D, Marketing, Design, Finance, Operations, Quality, Procurement, suppliers, and Markets.

The impact you’ll make

You will set the direction for Baristina and new coffee experiences, translating consumer trends and business opportunities into a clear portfolio roadmap across NPI, upgrades, platform extensions, geographic expansion, and future adjacencies.

You will shape the innovation agenda, define consumer need spaces, build strong value propositions, and create commercial briefs toward R&D. The role requires a strong understanding of how coffee beverages are evolving around the world and how to turn those shifts into relevant, differentiated, and scalable products.

You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle from value proposition creation to phase-out. This includes product definition, business cases, pricing logic, range architecture, claims, IP, product cost, quality, and post-launch performance.

You will be responsible for making the right trade-offs between consumer desirability, business viability, and technical feasibility, ensuring that products are loved by consumers, commercially strong, and executable at scale.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define the strategy, portfolio roadmap, and product project portfolio for Baristina, semi-auto, manual coffee, and new coffee experiences.
  • Own portfolio results, including Turnover, Margin%, IGM%, Market Share, product performance, and portfolio complexity.
  • Translate consumer insights, coffee trends, and pain points into strong value propositions, product requirements, claims, and experience principles.
  • Build and steer viable roadmap choices, including business cases, pricing logic, range architecture, investment priorities, and market activation needs.
  • Own NPI delivery, ensuring projects are delivered within target cost, timing, quality, and launch readiness.
  • Lead product performance management, including revenue, margin, R&R, quality, consumer satisfaction, and post-launch improvement plans.
  • Lead and develop a team of Product Managers and Product Project Managers, providing direction, coaching, prioritization, and clear decision-making.
  • Partner with R&D, Operations, Procurement, Quality, and suppliers to ensure product concepts are feasible, cost competitive, reliable, manufacturable, and scalable.
  • Build strong alignment with Marketing, Design, and Markets to ensure global relevance, local competitiveness, pricing strength, and successful commercial activation.
  • Drive category performance reviews, including share gain/loss, phase-in phase-out impact, PVMC outcomes, NPI performance, and portfolio actions.
  • Own claims, substantiation, trademarks, IP, and product-level differentiation.

KPI’s:

  • Sub-category revenue growth, IGM% improvement, Margin% improvement, and market share gains.
  • Product portfolio performance, including Turnover, growth, mix, profitability, and portfolio complexity.
  • Baristina and new coffee experience roadmap delivery.
  • NPI delivery within target cost, quality, timing, and launch readiness.
  • Post-launch performance up to 6 months after launch, including revenue, market share, profitability, R&R, RR%, and consumer satisfaction.
  • Desirability: strength of value proposition, product experience, cup quality, ease of use, reliability, and consumer ratings.
  • Viability: business case delivery, pricing realization, margin delivery, roadmap value creation, and market activation impact.
  • Feasibility: manufacturability, sourcing readiness, product cost, quality performance, and operational launch readiness.
  • Complexity reduction and SKU management versus target.
  • DFX contribution, including number of initiatives launched and savings in basis points.
  • Platforming strategy translated into clear roadmap choices.
  • Team engagement, talent development, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, category management, innovation, or business leadership, preferably in coffee, household durables, small domestic appliances, or consumer goods.
  • Strong product leadership experience, with proven ability to define strategy, build roadmaps, make portfolio choices, and deliver business results.
  • Experience in coffee, beverage systems, semi-automatic espresso, manual brewing, or premium consumer experiences is strongly preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify white spaces, create business cases, and turn emerging trends into scalable product opportunities.
  • Strong commercial judgment, including pricing, range architecture, margin management, investment choices, and market activation.
  • Strong understanding of consumer insights, market trends, competitor mapping, and value proposition development.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across Product, Project Management, R&D, Design, Operations, Finance, Quality, Procurement, Marketing, and Markets.
  • Track record of delivering projects within target cost, timing, and quality.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align senior leaders and teams behind clear priorities.
  • Preferably an advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Product Development, Engineering, or a related field.
