Azure Platform Network Engineer

We are looking for an Azure Platform Network Engineer who wants to help build, automate and operate secure connectivity services for one of the largest Azure platforms in Western Europe. You will be joining the Cloud Platform Network Enablement Team that is responsible for the Central Azure Network Services and Connectivity within ABN AMRO.

Your job

In the Public Cloud Platforms department we are looking for a motivated and ambitious new team member to join the Platform Network Enablement Team. We are looking for an Azure Network Engineer on the Microsoft Stack who knows network technology, infra as code, platform operations and automation.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for operating and developing the Azure Network Infrastructure together with the rest of the DevOps team. The team works in sprints to deliver business value by developing, scaling and improving the Azure Cloud Networking environment that consists of components such as Express Routes, Virtual Network Gateways, DNS Solution, and Palo Alto Firewalls on Azure. Our current focus areas are improving routing and security capabilities within and outside the Azure platform.

The team works closely together with stakeholders from other platform teams and the central network organisation, with our security networking colleagues and the architecture department to ensure we deliver the best connectivity solutions to our customers. Acting on monitoring, alerting and handling incidents is the responsibility of the whole team and driven by a role that rotates every sprint to a different team member.

Your work directly affects the reliability, security and cost-efficiency of Azure connectivity for hundreds of application teams across the bank.

Working environment

The Public Cloud Platforms Products, Services and Foundation department provides the Foundational layer of FSCP, which is ABN AMRO's Public Cloud Platform. The department consists of six teams that are engaged in building and maintaining platform functionalities, extending and managing the Azure service catalogue and performing other core platform activities that consumers and other platform service providers rely on.

Your profile

Must have:

• Azure DevOps (AZ-400) and/or Designing and Implementing Microsoft Azure Network Solutions (AZ-700)
• Experience with Azure DevOps and experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as design and deployment of ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep and PowerShell
• Experience in creating requirements for orchestration of application infrastructure and being able to translate it to Infrastructure as Code

Nice to have:

• Azure certification like AZ-305 and AZ-500
• Experience and knowledge about Traditional Network Infrastructure like DNS, Routing, Proxy and WAN
• Experience and knowledge of Supporting IT such as TLS, PKI, NAT, IDS/IPS, WAF and TCP/UDP
• Experience with the Agile framework and DevOps way of working
• Experience with Network Security Technology (e.g. Palo Alto)
