We are currently looking for a Contract Engineer Projects to join our Procurement Department in Delft, the Netherlands.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, awarding, and managing contracts and frame agreements for commercial and capital projects. You will act as the commercial and contractual interface between internal stakeholders, project teams, subcontractors, and the Legal department, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, cost-effectively, and in line with contractual and legal requirements.

The role suits a professional who is comfortable with:

  • Contract ownership
  • Subcontractor negotiations
  • Project risk management

Your role

As Contract Engineer Projects, you are responsible for developing and managing subcontracting strategies, mitigating commercial and contractual risks, and ensuring that project teams have the right contractual arrangements in place to execute complex offshore projects. Working closely with Project Management, Legal, Tax, QHSE and external subcontractors, you help safeguard project objectives from tender stage through execution and close-out.

What are the main tasks of a Contract Engineer Projects at Allseas?

  • Execute tendering and contracting processes in line with approved procedures and governance;
  • Define contracting strategies based on project value, commercial risk, market conditions, and supply risk;
  • Liaise with project teams and internal stakeholders to develop subcontracting strategies and tender scopes;
  • Prepare tender documentation, including draft contracts and frame agreements;
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and prepare contract award recommendations;
  • Negotiate commercial terms, conditions, and pricing in close cooperation with Legal and Project teams;
  • Award and administer contracts and frame agreements in accordance with company procedures;
  • Manage subcontractor contracts throughout project execution, including variations, claims, renewals, and close-out activities;
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual, commercial, and risk-related matters;
  • Review variation order requests and subcontractor invoices against contractual requirements;
  • Coordinate post-project evaluations and supplier performance reviews;
  • Contribute to standardisation, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives within Procurement.

What we expect from you

This position requires a commercially minded professional who is comfortable navigating complex contractual matters, balancing commercial opportunities against risk, and building strong working relationships with both internal stakeholders and subcontractors. Based on your experience, you are able to make sound contractual and commercial judgements that contribute to successful project execution.

Apart from that, you should largely recognise yourself in most of the following requirements:

  • BSc or MSc in a relevant discipline (technical, commercial, legal, engineering, or equivalent);
  • Experience in contracting within offshore, energy, shipbuilding, EPC, or similar industries;
  • Experience with tendering, subcontractor selection, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation;
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracting principles, procurement governance, and risk management;
  • Ability to assess commercial, contractual, and project-related risks;
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex contractual matters;
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and spoken;
  • Good command of the English language;
  • A hands-on, structured, and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary project teams.

What we offer

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on some of the world's most complex offshore construction and energy projects, where commercial insight, contractual expertise, and strategic thinking directly contribute to project success.

Apart from that, you can expect:

  • Competitive industry-benchmarked salary and one of the best pension plans on the market;
  • Performance-based salary raises and bonuses;
  • 30 holiday days per year and flexible working hours;
  • Extensive training and development programmes, study budgets, and coaching;
  • A company-sponsored fitness scheme;
  • Internal clubs, committees, parties, and sporting events.

Feels like the right challenge for you? Don't hesistate to apply!
